Epidemiologists are saying everyone will get it eventually.

For the vast majority of people it won’t be a big problem, unless you end up dying from it. That’s mostly a concern for 70+ and if you have compromised immune system.

Probably better to get it later than sooner as the healthcare system will be overwhelmed when it starts to ramp up here.

I fly a few times a month and assume I’ll get it or already have it, but don’t plan on changing my travel schedule unless it’s part of a forced action plan.

I think this has been covered ITT, but the larger issue is whether or not it becomes a seasonal virus, like cold and flu: a rapidly mutating endemic virus that human beings have little long term immunity to that sickens us every year.

Edit: actually, according to this article (which is pretty good, I think - and yes, probably previously posted), it's more likely something that would come back several times in one's lifetime as immunity wanes with age.

Would assume that's referencing business travel, which makes a lot of sense for a global logistics company

 

all their employees are banned from traveling? what constitutes "travel"?

 

Aren't we all going to keep getting it over and over? It's not one and done.

I'm still not clear on why any virus is seasonal. I get that it's more difficult for a virus to survive in more humid conditions, and cold weather means people are in closer proximity, but it seems (and maybe it just seems this way) like the flu "dies off" every year, and a new strain spreads the following season.

Why? Why doesn't that specific strain just hang out for a full 12 months and repeat infinitely?

 

I’m not changing my travel schedule for work but all of this does make me more aware that I need to use hand sanitizer in the airport a lot more because AIRPORT EMPLOYEES BLOW THEIR FUCKING NOSE AND THEN EXPECT ME TO HAND THEM SOMETHING THEY INTEND TO HAND BACK TO ME!
