True or False - when working from home management has higher expectation for attendance/reliability. Just overall more strict or... less tolerant of calling out sick, etc. aside from when employees are using the covid-related time off benefits.
False - mostly. If I’m not well enough to come in I’m also not well enough to focus on getting work done.
So my wife’s former company (she left about a month ago) has a home office location and then two other office locations in Florida and Texas. Apparently today they announced that because of a new company policy of no remote work outside of sales and account managers with territory, all other office employees hired into those locations are either terminated, or can move to the home office in Iowa. Christ.
Man, once Boomers die and GenX is overtaken by Millennials, the world is going to be so much fucking better.
somewhere on TMB 3.0 in the year 2051, someone is posting the same thing about Millennials finally dying off
You’re not old enough to have the influence of the boomers, but too old to part of the millennial generation that is taking over. You are nothing.
I’m in the fun spot where a re-org screwed my upward mobility. So now I either ride out WFH and enjoy it or consider looking (or try to start a business). At this point, I just continue producing and evaluating my options.
We had a vendor in the office today. HR lady met him at the door, he asked to use our restroom. She said no, he can go down the block at the gas station. Then HR lady came and told the engineering manager who he's meeting with not to let him use our restroom. What in the absolute world is wrong with this place. If I were him I'd have 100% told us to fuck off and not came back. I hate it here.
I guess it's also relevant that the HR lady has zero experience in HR. She is an accountant that got the job when we fired the old HR guy and the plant manager decided it'd be cheaper to have someone absorb the HR duties... This place is a shit show, I can't wait to get out of here.
Ha. You must have missed some of my earlier posts. According to my employer COVID is a government hoax and doesn't exist.
I don't know what the hell you guys are upset about. Me and my homies ALWAYS hung out at our local manufacturing plant. Friday nights at the MANPLANT was how we rolled. And we always made it a point to leave the faucets on in the bathrooms.
And he's the vendor that sells us a VERY crucial component... I don't know man, everyone is stupid here.
Based on my experiences working in a manufacturing plant, those bathrooms are some of the last ones on earth I'd like to do my business in.
It's the front office bathroom for managers/sales/engineers etc, not the bathroom out on the floor, which is disgusting.
Just realized I hadn’t done any expense reports all year. Fuck trying to remember all the travel is a bitch.
I'm currently in an Active Shooter training on Teams right now. You know when you don't have to worry about an active shooter? When you work from home.
