i don't think this is an outstanding cover and I'm actually unfamiliar with the original. but danielle haim playing percussions on what looks like a coffee canister and some glasses is pretty great.
Camp Cope are great. There are so many great Like a Versions. The radio station get a band in every Friday morning to play an original and a cover. Been running for over 15 years. This was one from a few weeks ago.
i don't know if this is better than the original because i don't listen to black sabbath but i turn this on about once a week
Not sure this is the perfect fit for this thread, but I saw the musical Jagged Little Pill last night. This actress, Jade McLeod, played the character named Jo, who sang You Oughta Know. Spoiler Don't call her JoAnn, she's not a fucking fabric store. This version doesn't do her live performance justice, as it doesn't capture nearly the amount of energy, power, despair, and raw emotions she put into it. Plus, it was a more driving tempo and she was more animated. That said, it's a good representation of her voice and the accompaniment. The characters sort of cycled through the songs in the show dependent on lyrical fit for each situation, but at one point it became obvious that Jo would be performing that song, and why. It was also obvious early on that she had the best voice in the cast for it. (Though it may have overall been the best cast for vocal talent I've seen live.) The show had to pause after the song while she received the longest and loudest mid-show round of applause I've seen during a touring Broadway production, which has included about 10 shows the last few years, including some big ones such as Hamilton. I turned to my wife during the applause and told her I think I preferred it to the original. Hence, this post. Anyway, long intro over. Jade McLeod with a version of You Oughta know that doesn't do her live performance justice.
