That could be disastrous
"Though there is currently no medical or scientific evidence to suggest that Dr. Michael’s death was triggered by the vaccine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are conducting a routine investigation into the incident"
It's Zerohedge. They're going to exaggerate anything and everything.
Guy I worked with on 1/5 tested positive 1/7. Two weeks off from work for me. Hopefully I can get tested Monday. No symptoms so far.
I knew this case was going to blow up... I’m not convinced it’s not vaccine related. I am convinced it’s going to be exceedingly rare and potentially due to an underlying issue that went undetected.
18.9 million people got the shot so far? Even if this turns out to be true, I’ll take my chances
Yeah usually some inflammatory event triggers itp, but his immune system was primed for it.
As has so far uniformly been the case with these rare vaccine reactions, if you're worried about ________ as a result of the vaccine, then you DEFINITELY don't want covid. Many, many more known cases of itp, including ICH/death, arising in covid cases.
Are you guys testing for any and every covid symptom? Pregnant wife is tired and congested. Is that test worthy? Don't want to be reckless but also don't want to test constantly for no reason.
It doesn't take much for me to order a test. If I were her doctor, I'd order one if those are new symptoms, even with fairly low suspicion. Worth a call to her provider
Texas has pregnancy as a qualifier for getting the vaccine. Saw a few comments ITT that getting it has been recommended by doctors of users here. Is that the case throughout the entire term? My wife is just out of the first trimester. We'll ask at her appointment in a couple of weeks, but I was curious if anyone has come across any info there
One guy died. Let’s call everything off.
300,000 died. NBD
1 in 4 million (hypothetical if even related, probably not) chance of dying to the vaccine vs 1 in 100 chance of dying to Covid roughly based on his age/sex
Good lord...it's like they only tested 1000 people per day then all of a sudden decided to test 100,000.
Curious to hear some thoughts on how this plays out. How soon until until the vaccines start to show a significant impact to the curve?
A few unquantifiable factors here:
1) speed of distribution and application of vaccine.
2) impact of English variant
3) impact of SA variant
4) when will the 24-45 age groups get the vaccine? They are driving the high case numbers and are not near the top of the priority list.
I saw something the other day about a new US variant - is that a thing too?
I remember back in the spring doctors from another country (I think it was France) were saying DO NOT take ibuprofen if you had Covid. They said to stick to Tylenol. Is that still a thing?
I’m SHOCKED that Birx was wrong. SHOCKED.
How many fucking times did I talk about widespread batched saliva testing?
Have any other countries been doing salva testing, don’t thing I’ve heard of anyone really committing to it
i don't know. it's picking up traction in the U.S. finally.
seems to be numerous advantages over nasal beyond being less invasive. Would there be any difference in lab turnaround on results?
“The difference between the two is that saliva can pick up that COVID-19 protein one or two days earlier, so the thought there is we can use that to reduce spread,” Miller says.
“With this test, you can go back to that sample and retest it. Unlike the nasal swab which would require getting another sample from the patient.”
It’s also easier to batch test imo
My work has been offering the saliva test for awhile I believe. After watching my daughter get the nasal swab I think I’ll be going to work to get any future testing
I had the saliva test in early November. While comfortable, it takes a while to spit the required volume into the container.
Interesting what’s the requirement?
Do we have any sense of whether the rapid tests would also pick up the B-117 and SA strains?
I don’t know the volume, but the lady instructed me “See this line here? Whatever you do, don’t go over the line”. So when you spit into the container, most of it is foam, and the foam goes over the line after a couple of spits. So you have to wait for all the foam to disappear to see how much spit there is. Then repeat. It took me about 30 minutes.
minnesota does free at home saliva tests to anyone requesting them, no cost all pre-paid shipping etc.
been doing it for a couple months i know i think
bertwing might have a tough time with the saliva test as he’s a known swallower
thank god. stop coming into clinic because you think you have the flu. Get a home test and stay the fuck home from work and school.
Nurse friend mine that got his second vaccine dose two days ago says the second one had more mild effects than the first. First time around arm was very sore for 24 hours. Second time no arm soreness, but had a low fever of 99 degrees that he killed with Tylenol and that was it. I think everyone’s vaccine experience is going to be unique to them and if you’re worried about feeling shitty for 24 hours, consider catching Covid and possibly feeling that way for days (not to mention long term effects and that whole pesky hospitalization risk thing/death thing)
I think I have the flu because Covid is fake for 100 Alex
I got the first of 2 doses of the Pfizer vaccine last night. Definitely feeling side effects today. Not debilitating but feeling the fatigue, mild muscle aches and moderate soreness at injection point (no fever).
Both doses in one night?
First of 2 doses it says. I had to re-read it I thought it said he got both as well.
Ahhh yes indeed
private board posters who stumble out to make their two posts a decade melt my brain
i forget theres sub boards littered with these people
I'm a member of a grand total of zero private boards besides the donor one.
me neither wanna start a lefty private board?
I think you said that you expected this to be the case anyways, but that's good to hear.
It’s good they believe it too!
pperc you hear anything negative/positive about any of the vaccines in HIV patients or PrEP patients? Our system’s screening form has an individual warning question about it, but from what I’ve read it’s just because it’s poorly studied?
I haven’t. I believe these patients were/are being studied but I haven’t seen data either way.
