    Who? Name names.

Is this thread supposed to be all covid-19 related info or all political opinion?

What? When is it ending? We're waiting for phase2 or maybe phase3. I'm guessing I'll be headed back to office in July but who knows. Florida.

With that said, I have it lucky that my kid's mom will be working from home for almost the entire summer, so when I do go back to the office they'll spend more time with her.

Good luck - some tough decisions ahead.

I'm still wondering what school will look like in August.

At the moment no one knows what schools will look like in August. But, anyone who wants to can read the tea leaves. The Feds will have 2 messages. The CDC will advocate opening the schools “on a case by case basis per local conditions”. The White House is all in on the concept of “the more things seem normalized, the better our re/election chances”. They don’t care about short term or long term health consequences to our youth. They care solely about re-election. Once you understand that, everything becomes simple.

Certain Governors will support this POV. They will strongly push for the regular opening of schools...probably they will mandate it. These are the Governors to be wary of. Re-election is their sole concern. They do not care one iota about the kids, or the school’s staffs.

I've seen so much weird almost certainly conversion/somatiform shit lately though too. Sure, a cluster of unexplained, stereotyped sx like tongue numbness is suspicious, but anxiety levels blasted through the roof months ago, and your average person has no idea that that crippling anxiety they're not managing causes some weird shit.

It's about time we got on that whole lithium in the water supply thing

That said, I've been covid testing people for less reason than tongue numbness. There's really nothing I won't test for anymore

I'll go look for that thread.

What's the thought? Trump admin finally found a way to torpedo an institution like the CDC's credibility?

On that page the CDC is using a CFR of 0.2% as the lower bound value for planning (Scenario 2) and a CFR of 1.0% as the upper bound value (Scenario 3).

    Can't find the thread.

The flagrantly piss poor CFR estimate, especially among the elderly, isn't the biggest issue,if those suspicions are indeed true. The biggest issue by far is that it's possible for the WH to manipulate a crucial scientific institution like the CDC.

    Fuck the founding fathers.

Try to tell any nursing home/SNF medical director that the case fatality rate for their demographic is, at most, 3%. That's insulting.

Well, as of yesterday, you can't tell a med director of one of our local SNFs that, because he died of it. 50 y.o., pretty healthy guy. Must've been that unlucky 1/1000, per the cdc

What's happened is that this group Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response has a big role in response to emergencies, and this is an officially designated emergency. CDC has to make their 'Tools" available. My guess is that Jared had a big hand in directing how these tools would function. In Utah the CFR for 65+ is almost 9%, which is much, much higher than the worst-case planning scenario.

Sorry if this already been touched on but I’ve seen people posting this around and wasnt sure if it’s been discussed yet:

    From Kristen Paonessa O’Brien:

    Well ...
Kids aren’t asymptomatic carriers at all. This is SUCH good news about a virus we are learning something new about everyday.
Have them go hug your parents

Children have have less ACE2 receptors and so SARS-COV-2 has less ability to invade the cells.

“Children account for less than 2% of identified cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).1,2 It is hypothesized that the lower risk among children is due to differential expression of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2),3 the receptor that severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) uses for host entry.4 We investigated ACE2 gene expression in the nasal epithelium of children and adults....”

    https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2766524

Now the CDC of course says it doesn’t spread on surfaces, so we can stop poisoning ourselves by sanitizing everything!

It’s truly mind-blowing how fear takes hold of society and spills over into blindly accepting masks, touchless shopping, dots all over store floors, and you can’t go to parks or playgrounds or share a park bench with anyone outside your family it is actually all completely contradictory to science.

It likely isn’t being spread by asymptomatic carriers and kids likely aren’t even getting it. Why aren’t camps and schools fully opened yet? Why won’t pools open this summer?
Why the draconian CDC and State guidelines?

Fear to keep you in submission and willingly giving up your constitutional rights and sovereignty.

Sarah Bullock “Conclusion: In summary, all the 455 contacts were excluded from SARS-CoV-2 infection and we conclude that the infectivity of some asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 carriers might be weak.”

    Kinda makes you go hmmmm?

COVID patients testing positive after recovery ARE NOT infectious (according to the SCIENTIFIC study).

When is the point at which you say enough is enough?

Know what's as bad as false science? Awful hot takes about actual science that don't factor in uncertainty and limitations.

Most of that stuff has already been discussed in the thread. Short answer - those aren’t the correct assumptions to be drawn from the studies. Better question for her though - even if those were the correct interpretations of the results, why is she suddenly so accepting of western medicine and science now and not when discussing the healing power of crystals?

Interesting take of “kids have fewer ACE2 receptors in their nasal mucosa therefore they can’t get infected and can’t be asymptomatic carriers”. Logical gymnastics to take that leap is pretty astounding. Or, could be LESS likely to get infected and LESS likely to be asymptomatic carriers, but of course, either it’s everything or it’s nothing.

I made fun of people believing the Gates conspiracies on Facebook and heard directly from a friend I offended by it. Turns out it wasn’t so much Gates as much as they thought Gates might be working with big pharma. Or something.

This person is an otherwise sane individual as far as I know.

I mean before it was (((George Soros))) in cahoots with China funding the virus that'll specifically kill (((George Soros))) but I guess the definitely-not-nazis needed someone who wasn't an anti-semetic dog-whistle-target to use to make it a popular meme among non-nazi groups

I heard it was actually a mistress of his that was a former virologist that produced the vaccine in a heavily modified sterilized bathtub.

For more info on her role in the conspiracy, you can google “tub girl.” Gives a complete history. Thought xec and some others might be interested in this

I know we've gotten off track here, but I can't understand why everything has to be a conspiracy theory in today's world. It's truly beyond me. The sad part is people won't trust those that have dedicated their lives to the betterment of society and have done everything needed to gain the knowledge to due so. Instead they choose believe some high school dropout with a podcast or some random meme on FB.

Oh I get it. But that became evidence in the microchip conspiracy theory. like, it wasn’t the normal Illuminati shit it was “well he’s involved in big pharma so how do we know” kinda shit.

When literally no institution or expert on earth is to be trusted, everything seems possible. I guess.
