"Dear Washington, We regret to inform you that you will not be able to practice yesterday or the day before" (cmon bruce)
BC has ended their season and won’t be accepting the bowl invite. And I can’t blame them one bit. I can’t imagine how hard it’s been for so many coaches and players. Imagine that happens more often than not. And fuck missing Christmas for a 1.5 day trip to Detroit for the little Caesars bowl
Saw a tweet that the guys on BC were actually glad to be able to go home and see their families and not worry with a bowl and practice
he said in august we had to have a tourney this year. the only thing that has changed is his team is an absolute dumpster fire so he’s trying to cancel the season the media will eat it up as always because k is truly infallible
Yep. These guys have been pretty much cut off since the summer. That’s got to be extremely mentally grueling.
The constant stops and starts and last minute cancellations have been tough on teams also from what I've read
BC has only had one Covid positive. That’s really impressive, but the amount of restrictions and thoroughness of those restrictions have to have been exhausting.
And the only positive case was Bc someone got it going home to visit family over thanksgiving coincidentally enough. but I think this sums it up pretty well
Don’t always agree with Greg but thought this was good. And this is a point that needs to be answered https://www.indystar.com/story/spor...riorities-mike-krzyzewski-coach-k/3896825001/
Either way they shouldn't really be "going home for the holidays" ffs I guarantee I have way less exposure to vectors for this thing than a player, even though they're living under a rigid testing regime (theoretically) and I'm not seeing my family right now If the argument is let them go home, then have them isolate and test and really go home. As in, not come and go again.
treating anything k is saying about this as if he is operating in good faith is dumb. this has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with his team being terrible
Yeah that's terrifying. Be very curious how well tested his heart and lungs were over the past few months.
So a player is possibly going to be really sick or injured due to this but by gawd we need our college sports!
Possibly worse....what happened yesterday should be terrifying every single person in every single athletic department in the country
I can't believe there haven't been any updates on johnson. It's hard not to read bad things into that. We live in such a stupid, greedy, selfish country
I read into this that the family doesn’t favor public updates- - - probably because there isn’t anything positive to tell the public.
Also, regarding your last sentence, the lack of any news from universities, college sports officials and the networks (ie, the people who had the most to gain financially from the season being played) isn’t surprising. They are, at this moment, creating their future news releases expressing sadness but reminding everyone that we all knew there were risks.
