I'm willing to bet all these people that suddenly care about the players opinions didn't give a shit about what they thought 7 months ago. I bet they don't think they should be paid either
To be fair, Ohio State didn’t make the call to cancel the season, and given much of what they’ve done and said during this, I’m pretty sure they’d prefer to be playing too. Shitty, and terrible, recruiting pitch nonetheless.
I can’t see the B1G or PAC ever getting a big recruit again once this football seriousness thing is out
Unlike most of y’all, I have always supported the players yearning to play big time college football in exchange for the perks of a full ride.
They did though. Their athletic department reacted negatively to it, but their president (or acting president) agreed postponing to spring was the right call
Doesn’t mean they aren’t happy, and don’t appreciate, what they currently have. Who is gonna say no to more money? Most wouldn’t. For example, y’all accepted the trump money in April if you qualified for it, which Follows the same “all talk no walk” hypocrisy theme that has already been proven ITT.
so this stems from trump but the refusal of many americans to just face reality and instead always choose the glowingly positive spin at all times is maybe the biggest hurdle we face so many americans who just love to live in ignorance, this is why i'll take people who are 10% too catastrophizing vs people who are 10% not taking it seriously enough, the latter hurts others far more than the former
The hallmark of a reasonable person is having an opinion that is contrary to data, being shown said data, and then digging in your heels & doubling down. It’s exactly the same behavior as the QAnon lunatics.
Many top scientific experts agree that college basketball should probably be canceled already and ADs should probably fire the head men’s basketball coach to help the ADs through the tough times. Same experts have said college wrestling and ice hockey are completely safe and should be played. I couldn’t agree more with them.
This is ridiculous. If it's not safe to travel as a team, maybe they shouldnt be playing edit - The Cardinals are renting 42 cars to drive up to Chicago individually
As I read that tweet it did not go in the direction I thought it was going to go. It's very on brand though
best thing I've seen come out of this: the parents of a young woman I know both lost their jobs last month. Her more affluent friend approached their coach and let him know she would be willing to relinquish her scholarship for the coming year so it could be applied to the girl experiencing financial hardship to cover her tuition for the year
Arkansas HS fall sports will proceed with directives being posted on the AAA website today. I met with our AD today to talk about a plan for youth sports. It’s going to be a mess but they’re going to give it a shot with a lot of restrictions.
Based on the lengths the PAC 12 went with trying to plant stories through the LA Times, this wouldn’t be surprising at all
