Ok, new lines opened in the last 24 months: HELOC (this month) Best Buy Citi (4 months) Citi Simplicity (11 months) Chase Sapphire Preferred (13 months) Am I at 3/24 or 4/24? I just let the CSP fee hit like a goofball. Meant to downgrade it. Credit score is ~770 Other cards that have been open for longer are Quicksilver (downgraded from Venture last year), Lowe’s, and some stupid NFL Extra Points card from college. Where do I go from here? Southwest only goes to Houston and Nashville from here and United is only Houston and Chicago.
Looking for a new card. Right now got a chase freedom and a shitty card I don’t use at all. So here is the scenerio: I need 2 cards. I am going to use card A with my BFF for shared expenses and Card B will be used for my own personal stuff. Spending of Card A will be majority spent at grocery stores, daycare, paying bills, maybe the occasional restaurant, etc. Spending on Card B will be mainly gas stations, restaurants and fast food, grocery stores, car insurance bill, etc. I’m thinking about the CSR or CSP for Card B and making the Chase freedom the shared expenses card. What you think?
My private card (my BFF knows about it, it gets paid from our joint account she just doesnt get to see the purchases or bitch about the amounts) is my discover it card. I love that bad boy. I also think it has the best mobile app/web interface of all the other major players.
Can't really go wrong with CSR. Depends if you're looking for points that can go toward travel or cash back. If you want cash back, Amex blue isn't a bad idea as you get 6% on groceries, and 3% on gas.
Imo if someone is under 5/24, CSR is an automatic GO. ..Provided you haven't had a sapphire family bonus in the past 2 years or hold a sapphire card.
Got the 30 day email. Who do I need to call to figure out what is going on. I applied for the CSR and have called the automated number. Still getting the 30 day message. I would still like to apply for the CSP today and double dip.
What would you say is the best first credit card for someone? Girlfriend's sister just graduated college and is finally wanting to get a starting card. Not sure that she'll ever want to get into the points game. I know Discover It is easy to get approved for and was possibly thinking Citi Double Cash. Not sure if Chase is strict with giving the Freedom Unlimited to first time card applicants
Coworker recommended going chase ink cash for the 50k points and no annual fee is this a good route as well?
Ok so if I’m downgrading, I can get the bonus on the card?? Is there a timeframe where I can also upgrade back to the card and get the bonus again?
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/15/...ml?rref=collection/sectioncollection/business GoodForAnother made the news wow
You devalued UR by dumping your CSR So I find more value in the companion pass and SW miles than 50k UR, especially with Hawaii coming I value 100k Marriott at about $800, and if you had CSR I'd say 50,000 UR is about the same but you don't anymore so it's less
Wife has CSR so I can redeem at 1.5x which is why I was confused. So if I have 1.5x redemption then it's more of a preference
pretty dang salty about this. looking like they'll start selling flights in late 2018, making flights in 2019.
Team UR points. Get that 50k. When you hit that spend it's basically a round trip flight to Europe already
theyre already so strict on household combining of points that i doubt it goes away. they'll let people who can prove they live together combine imo
Along these lines, do you downgrade after paying the annual fee or before? Or does it not really matter at all?
Is the companion pass still possible with the dual cards and if so can someone link me on the way to do it?
Yes, you have to open the business card (publically available 60,000 offer) and the personal (my referral: https://www.referyourchasecard.com/224/PUIXF3XKZ5), as always, same day (business day). Once you hit both and spend a little more, you'll have your 110,000 Here's a lengthy explanation: https://wallethacks.com/how-to-earn-a-southwest-companion-pass-without-spending-110000/
Using the rapid rewards shopping portal also helps fill the gap between (minimum spend + signup bonus) and the 110k mark
