Companion pass (2 year) just came in. Hopefully I can cancel my wife’s ticket next week and add under the pass.
FYI AA gift cards currently aren't coding right on AMEX so don't be spending your plat/aspire credit on there right now
WTF is going on with Marriott rewards (BonVoY I guess). I've been three different platinum names over the last three days and my lifetime status got moved up to gold for no reason a couple weeks ago which is nice.
Getting a “the offer you’re attempting to access is no longer valid.... directing you to updated offer” popup. Still for 50K on CSP. Will that affect your referral?
Nope, if you click it in get credit still. It's how I still get referrals after not having that card for two years lol
I want to be mad at you about this but you give so much damn advice and help itt, I just can't be and end up feeling, "well yeah, it's deserved."
Next round of Citi AA mailers are out in the wild because my cat got one today - not sure if they’ve quit the tiered offer bullshit or if they’re desperate, because this one is for 60k miles with a $3k in 3 month spend
Opened the Citi Premier in December in anticipation of expensive oral surgery. $4,000 spend in first 3 months to net $625 in airfare. Dropped $4,320 out-of-pocket on Wednesday, promptly reimbursed myself $1,250 from health savings, and balance transferred the $3,070 residual to my Quicksilver (2% fee and 0% APR for 12 months). Not mad at basically paying $61.40 in interest to get more than 10 times that back from Citi.
Chase telling wifey she can’t downgrade from CSR to Unlimited until after she’s had the card a full year and would have to close account and apply for Unlimited, but we obviously want to switch before the fee comes in. Any advice? Arkadin ohhaithur
Think after I get Wifey downgraded to Freedom we’ll get her going with Amex platinum. Anybody have any luck getting offers above 60k? I assume just throw some information in the third party matching websites and hope for the best
I still have the chase Marriott card but just noticed all the bonvoy changes in the app and what not. Are there changes to the program other than some hotels changing redemption categories? Also did they just send you a new card?
You get the card in June allegedly There are changes, none of them good. Peak pricing, limits on card bonuses, higher top categories, etc
https://onemileatatime.com/world-of-hyatt-promotion/ due to how my vacation timing lines up i'm going to crush some bonus points, the "one stay pre-req" kind of sucks but luckily spending one night in LA before any of the rest of my travel
Signing up now. I already have CSR, so this is for the wife. Any reason not to add myself as authorized user? Would that count as a new account for me too?
They “need to review my request a little longer” per popup. Hope she isn’t over 5/24, I didn’t even check. Oops
Supposedly eBates now allowing people to earn in Membership Rewards. If it’s a 1:1 value, there could be some huge value there.
Good to know. We put $1k for an upcoming trip on it the day my bff got it - might not have been the best decision in hindsight.
It's been about a year since I came to the thread asking for help and came a long ways. Credit score is up above 740 now, over $20k credit allowance between the accounts, and just booked my flights to SXSW next month in Austin completely covered by my award miles. Props to Lyrtch, ohhaithur, TAS, Arkadin, and a bunch of you other dudes for the help.
Thanks fam. Mine is pretty basic, mainly just there to help wife pick between csr amex amazon and freedom
On related personal finance issues... Anyone have a good rec for student loan refinancing? I’m sure there’s a thread but this is my home and I’m scared of others
i've had great success with earnest. they offered by far the best rates of places i looked (also looked at sofi). if you decide to go with earnest, you can use this link to get $200 off https://www.earnest.com/invite/joseph1404
I used Credible, which will pull offers from several lenders. If you go that route, use my referral code: http://refer.credible.com/WCMZ6M
i refinanced through sofi, pretty straight-forward and got a much better rate and accelerated my pay schedule. www.sofi.com/share/9662?src=copy
