Probably can find this online somewhere, but does adding an authorized user to your account show a new open account for the added user? Thinking about adding my fiance to my account to maximize rewards on my credit card, but she also has room to grow her credit card base and I dont want to be opening multiple accounts at once in her name.
Yes - it shows up on their report. This could mean an auto reject on chase if that gets her to 5/24 but a phone call should resolve the issue.
Went to close my Wells Fargo CC, they doubled my limit and gave me 24 month interest free transfer deal with no tranfer fees. Not bad, not a huge fan of Wells Fargo but I can use the nice interest free deal.
If you need balance transfers there are a million cards that will do that that can actually provide value
I was in the process of closing some credit card accounts I don’t use anymore. A capital one, one of my Barclays and my Wells Fargo. Just cleaning up my CC’s a little... surprised they made the offer to be honest, not sure when I Lasy used that card lol. It’s been a while.
Which cards have zero transfer fees and earn points or cash back from balance transfers? I found a BoA card with zero transfer fees but they have a 3/24 or 4/24 rule for new applications. Everyone else is in the 3-5% range on fees
If that is the case, there is no value in adding an authorized user if there is a sign up bonus they are basically missing out on, correct?
No one us giving you points or cash back for transferring a balance But you can get the quicksilver currently that will give you 150 bucks for spending 500
Quicksilver's credit limits are trash and they charge 3% on balance transfers. Might make sense for some scenarios but not for what I'm trying to accomplish
You are correct - I wouldn’t add an AU unless that person is already over 5/24 & not possibly going to be under it anytime soon
Still waiting as well. Did some reading on another site yesterday and people were saying they had to wait up to 6 months from signing up to receive a mailer.
Just made my second gift card run and Netflix is paid until may 2020 and my 400 uber bucks should last me until at least Sunday
Log in to dog’s AAdvantage account, dick around looking for a trip you might possibly want to take, go ahead & price it out, and then log out.
Hello friends. If I book a Marriott (or whatever its called now) hotel through the Chase UR portal, do I get credit for qualifying nights (I know I don't get points)?
Are the Citi Business Cards difficult to get? If not, then I think I am willing to go this route as I currently have status with AA and would like to keep that going. Also, any suggestion on which AA Business Card to go with? And finally, any referrals in here? Or is there a better Biz card I should look into instead? I should say, I am ready, willing, and able to give a referral for some good guidance. I have a fair amount of travel coming up and would like for this spend to be towards a minimum spend, though if I should hold off then I don't mind the points on the CSR and the SPG Lux.
I thought this experience was for the regular personal card, no? The guidance I received itt was to not waste my last CC option on the AA personal card but instead to go a Biz card which won't count towards my 5/24 (since I am currently sitting at 4/24 based on the CSR/CSP, Hyatt, and SPG Lux). But yeah, that is still magical they don't bother you for having that many AA cards.
Get the Barclays one too - you literally have to pay the AF up front plus one purchase, even if that purchase is for a bottle of water for $1. I don’t think there are referrals for that one either - I applied for and got both the Citi and Barclays biz cards on the same day, so I’d recommend the same just in case any pulls show up on your credit.
marcus My Weekend Night Reward posted on my Hilton acct from the Amex Hilton Aspire Card a couple days ago. I just called to use it....took care of 1 night at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui. /bartscott
In Moorea from April 29-May 4, Bora Bora from May 5-9. Structured my booking to hopefully get upgraded.
Another question, how do you determine if it is worth transferring Chase UR points to an airline? The specific airline in question is Southwest. I have the Southwest card but am 11k points short for a trip I am looking to take. Is it worth it to transfer those points or should I just purchase them directly from SW and keep the Chase points?
Yeah, it was something like $307 for 12k points. Not ideal but if that is worth more than transferring my Chase points then I would go that route. I guess the overall question is how you guys determine if it is worth transferring Chase points out of Chase and to another provider or not?
For the flights when I've booked through United they have been for trips to Europe which is 60k points. I look at the cost of paying cash for those flights to see what the point value is. Through Chase UR you can redeem at 1.5cpp, generally through the airline you can get higher than that. Some of the better redemptions will be around 2cpp. I've seen Southwest for over the 1.5 as well but they're usually right around that
calculate the value of the points you're transferring if used for the SW flight, if its > the cost of buying them and enough of a value compared to points value charts that places like The Points Guy or whoever publishes then its worth it
SW (and Chase portal) are both 1.5 cpp, which means they're safe bets. United can vary from .5 to 6+ so they're all over the place. Hyatt is all over the place too I feel safe using my UR on SW even if it means I miss out on some absurd middle eastern business class ticket in five years
We did this for our honeymoon. Awesome trip. We actually enjoyed Moorea a little more than Bora Bora, but its hard to beat the view on BB.
More to do on Mo’orea. Det. Frank Bullitt , if you’re going to do a shark/ray swimming/lunch tour, pick Hiro’s. He was great.
I may have scheduled my wedding block at a Westin and may be fronting all my immediate family’s hotel rooms for the Marriott points...
