upcoming... nothing. all the money is going into the house. Eventually the fiance and I will do a honeymoon to bora bora or something.
I think my next points move is Sapphire Banking w/ Chase. haven't done any research, but I think 60K UR pts are available for opening (upgrading?) to that product.
chase ink preferred is a great option as others have already pointed out. if you have CSR, you can combine the additional 80K bonus points to really up your UR balance. if you need a hotel card for a potential honeymoon in bora bora, hilton amex aspire is another good option. $450 AF, but comes with $250 airline credit, status at hilton, 150K bonus points (~$900 value according to some estimates), among other things. can be used at the conrad bora bora - https://conradhotels3.hilton.com/en...sting4DGGeneric_Nov5LocalSearch6PPTBNCI7EN8i1 shameless plug for Amex - Apply for an American Express Card with this link. We can both get rewarded if you're approved! http://refer.amex.us/JOSEPQW9ki?xl=cp33 or CIP - Earn 80,00 bonus points with Chase Ink Business Preferred. I have an old Capital One card that I never use. I used to it to move last month and ran up 10K real quick. Bout to pay it off now.
If you don't have the Chase Hyatt card, it's a no brainer. Best sign up bonus for the $95 annual fee in the business IMO. 25,000 pts for the first $3k worth of purchases in the first 3 months, 25,000 more points for $3k extra in the first 6 months. Those points are worth up to about $1500 if you play your cards right. Shameless referral - Earn up to 50,000 bonus points with the World of Hyatt Credit Card. I can be rewarded too, learn More. https://www.referyourchasecard.com/205/E5U573F94C
You can get a hotel card or two or you can just get a card for cash back stuff for now A malleable point system like a Chase Ink or Amex MR card might work for you. Or just take out the AA cards so you get your flights for free without paying annual fees. You have infinite options really
Rejections are now common. But worse: Account closures and bonus retractions have been reported when asking for more points
seems like the smart play would be to do the chase ink to keep everything in the same UR family? Fiance has all the Mariott points in the world, so probably best to let her handle that aspect of it. What are the AA cards you recommend?
How long should one wait before applying for another Citi AA business card? Should information be changed around in the application from the previous application or does Citi not check as closely as Chase?
If you do ink, do it first since chase is finicky I love them all. The barclays is easy...only need one purchase. The citi are great because you just downgrade after a year and pay no fees
Will this next card be the last you open or are you going to be doing some of the dumb shit we do here? Is there any specific thing you spend an absurd amount on (ie you pay for work travel on a card or you shop at Staples every day)
If she spends more at Amazon than you do at everything besides "amazon, restaurants, gas stations and drug stores combined" get the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa If she doesn't, you're probably fine with the Citi Doublecash. If you want to be a little froggy, you can sign up for the Citibank American Airlines card and get the 65,000 point bonus and use that card for a year and then after exactly a year you can downgrade it to the double cash card for free. That will give you a free RT flight basically anywhere in the world and then 2% back in cash the rest of your life
Honestly with one card you should focus on cash. 2% back in cash would long-term be much valuable to you than racking up points, especially since point cards earn .5%-1.5% in a currency you can't buy food with We are in here for bonuses. If we all had only one card to pick, a lot of us would do the same
Woof. Chase SapphireSM Checking details The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) for Chase SapphireSM checking effective as of 03/15/2019, is 0.01% for all balances in all states.
Responded before you posted the APY of 0.01% That's fucking terrible Why would anyone keep 75m in an essentially interest free account
I get 2% at my local bank. Lots of online banks pay that or higher on savings accounts though, I have one with Discover
I keep my long term savings in Ally @ 2.2% (regular, incremental improvements automatically apply) but figured the short term savings stored in Chase w/ Sapphire Banking would be 'okay' enough. Turns out I was way wrong. Just looked up Chase Private Client (for those with 250K+) and wow, same thing .01% APY
As someone who has done zero research, what are the disadvantages of a high-yield online savings accounts when compared to a savings account of a standard bank (not including the APY difference)?
I’ve got one and for me at least, the only real disadvantage is it takes a little longer to get the money if you withdraw
There shouldn't be much really - there may be some marginal relationship benefits (e.g. I think BoA mortgage rates are a little better if you have $$$ in their savings accounts, etc.).
the way I see it (based on my needs and anticipated needs in the near future) would be a quick in-person withdrawal. The other 364 days of the year, it just needs to sit (and earn). Ally may have ATM or branch parnters, but I've never even looked it up. I haven't withdrawn (other than a couple minor internal transfers to my other accounts, facilitated via ACH) any cash
Most of these online banks offer fee waivers / reimbursements to use any ATMs upto a certain $ a month. E.g. My Credit Union (I had gotten an account as they redued .5% off my Car Loan rate) reimburses upto 25$ in ATM fees each month.
It's been that for a while. It's why I'm waiting until I hopefully receive my second card before downgrading my fiance's. Can't pass up that free 20,000 points.
Ahhhh ok I really really wouldn't go past 30 days from when you're billed. You're playing with fire then
