I am trying to refer for another CIP and whenever I input the information it tells me that the offer is no longer available and that it is unavailable at this time. Is this happening for anyone else?

I found one of mine that worked lol. Sorry sir. Is there a way to know which card my referral link is linked to?

IDK about the last part, just wait until the reward hits your card? I think you get an email saying you referred someone

To follow up on this we legally married last weekend (which ended up being good timing because Mrs. Saint went from furloughed to laid off this week so her benefits would've been gone at the end of the month). We pushed the ceremony until next May so all of our vendors would be available and hopefully the world will be in a state closer to normal. Only cost was the change the date postcards so all in all a lot smoother than I was expecting.

Probably not but we haven't really discussed that with it being a year+ out now.

We still want to go to Thailand/Cambodia but who knows when that will be possible. I have most of the trip planned out and will probably finish that up now anyway so it'll really just be putting together flights, hotels, etc.

What is this gist of this article? Sell them to raise cash...are CC expected to use them for higher introductory rates or just to have to give out as normal?

    1. Sell miles to credit card companies for money
    2. Get credit card companies to give them out
    3. Confiscate the miles and keep the money

This is likely a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. I have an AmEx Blue Cash Preferred card. I'm interested in the AmEx Hilton card. Would they just transfer my limit and everything to the new card, or would I have two AmEx cards?

You would have two cards, you can't change like that.

If you want to change within the Hilton family (like you get an Aspire card and realize you're not getting value out of the fee) you can change later.

Which Hilton are you considering? Do you have a referral and if not...sup

I was looking at the Surpass; I received something in the mail from AmEx a couple of weeks ago, but they didn't know anything about it on their website. It must have just been a Hilton thing. I guess I could change all of my monthly auto-deductions. I may hit you up for the referral once I do some more research.

So I assume lots of folks are in a similar boat as me with the 4 year anniversary of CSR coming up. My plan is to downgrade to FU and then get another CSR for another bonus. I assume I should wait until the AF hits on CSR #1 to do this? Any tricks/opportunities I am overlooking (self referral, double dip oppo, etc)? Trying to talk the wife into doing a CSR as well but her dad has her convinced multiple credit cards are the devil so she is still only rocking her Freedom from like 2009.

It seems like there isn't a point for two people in a family to both have a CSR. You get a guest pass for the lounge, the other person can transfer points to the CSR for free....and the CSP actually has higher bonus point rewards with a lower fee

Wow I guess I hadn't looked at the bonuses in a while. No idea CSP was higher.

So I assume my best bet would be refer wifey for CSP with my current CSR. Then downgrade, then have her refer me for CSR #2.

I am not doing this since I'm over 5/24 but I'm considering dropping under 5/24 in order to do the whole thing all over again

Definitely don't think a household needs two CSRs long-term

I paid a ~$600 expense on a Chase card I rarely use and subsequently got a refund. I now have a -$600 balance on a card I barely use and want to transfer it to my daily use card. I don't have any "balance transfer offers" but can I just call them and ask them? I have four cards open with them (including the CSR) and good credit, so I feel like it should be good customer service to let me do that but can't figure out how to do it online.

Online says long wait times due to COVID-19 if you call so I figured I'd ask here first before wasting an hour on hold only to find out it can't be done.

    Ok Fam... ohhaithur

Friday I'm closing on my house. I'm trying to get probably 3 cards immediately after I close to take advantage of some new house spending:

CSR nearing 4 years. Will props try to cancel and resign up
CIP1/2. Seems dead & I'm moving addresses so even w/ old links I'll have to call.(I do have old links)
Delta Plat that is old and will probably decomm it as wife has one w/ the boarding/free luggage & guest pass.

Travel background. I rarely stay in hotels, it's almost always airbnb, so hotel cards don't help me much, but I'm having a baby soon and it might change our destinations & needs. I'm Atlanta based so fly Delta 99.9% of the time.

Delta Branded cards kinda suck right now outside premium cards. Hilton/Marriot Amex cards that can transfer to Delta are about the same. 30-40k points.

    Thinking:
    • CSP for wife. I'll keep the reserve and can transfer points. Seems like the best rewards $ anywhere.
      • Can I refer a CSP from a CSR account?
    • Delta Gold Card. It nets out the same as the higher end cards & can get my wife to refer me, I think.
    • Struggling on a 3rd that gets good value. The Citi AA cards are nice, but then I'd have to fly the worst legacy carrier in the US.
Really seems like these banks have scaled back their initial rewards.

No referrals on CSP from CSR, sorry.

If I were you I would:

Change your CSR to a Freedom
Open a CSR/CSP modified double dip for you
    Open a CSR for her

Keep all your business in the one family in this time of point uncertainty

So I think I'd have to do it a bit differently. I'm not 48 mos out with the CSR, so I can't get a CSP reward or double dip back, right?

I can def do a double dip for her. Is the proper way submit on at like 11pm then the other at 6am??

Outside of referring her for 10k, I can't do anything with Chase...correct me where I'm wrong

My AF is due on my platinum in June. Called and told them that due to lack of travel I was considering cancelling the card and they gave me a 300 dollar statement credit. A friend got 500.

I thought you said you were nearing 4 years....yeah if you're not at 4 years you can't get either

You might have the three cards be a double dip for her and Delta for you

I'd have to check the date but I think I'm 6 mos out. At worst i can get a delta now and a CSP in 6 mos.

How's the proper double dip performed now. I don't see much about it on reddit & only articles about ppl getting their cards canceled. How big is the risk here?

I've read MDD successes in 2020. There is certainly risk, but it's hard to tell how much with Chase tightening up on somethings (business cards, etc)

    It works as you said

Sitting on about 415k Chase points under my CSR - since it looks like I won’t be traveling overseas any until probably next summer, I’m thinking about cashing some out to diversify them, and that many points sitting for that long makes me a little uneasy.

Unless you need the cash there's really no reason to. It's very unlikely that the 0.01 towards your credit statement goes lower any time soon.

If you had United or Virgin points I'd want to diversify those but Chase UR, Amex MR, Citi TY are fine to hold

Any other AMEX platinum holders get a 10,000 point offer to sign up for AMEX's pay later program? I got an email from them yesterday saying I just have to sign up the program and that's it and they'll give me 10,000 points. I don't have to use it at all, just enroll. I'm trying to find what the catch is.
