My platinum renews in September. I fully plan on canceling it unless they give me a huuuge AF discount. I'll probably go back to the CSR or Schwab Platinum.
Looking for a new card. Was going to do the Hyatt (I think that was it) card based on recs in this thread but don’t really see a point in it right now considering I’m not sure when I am going to travel next. - Currently sitting at 2/24. - Have a CSR, freedom, Alaska card, BofA rewards, and 5 inks. - Have around 550k UR points, 120k Alaska miles - Can hit most spends. Thoughts?
My CSR just got the $550 annual fee, they said they’re giving back $100 of that due to COVID right? Anyone successfully get it delayed or removed since the card benefits for travel aren’t much of a benefit right now?
Originally had a flight on Delta from San Diego to Cleveland with a layover in Detroit. They changed the itinerary and added a layover in SLC. The flight into Detroit gets there two hours after the flight leaves for Cleveland. Why even make that change? Literally impossible for me to make the flight. Just cancel and refund me at that point. I don't get it.
They can't afford to refund everyone. Screenshot everything you can immediately, it will be vital for your case to prove you were not reaccommodated properly
Any married ppl on here sharing rewards? Chase is optimal b/c you can freely transfer points freely. I know Delta doesn't let you transfer shit. What about any hotels cards?? Amex rewards?
Points are the only thing in my prenup. She can take the kids and the house but god help her is she comes after my Turkish Airlines Smiles
Fiancée got the AmEx Hilton Surpass card for the 150k bonus. She transferred all her Hilton points to my account to use towards the honeymoon and it only took a day or two to process
Ok, cool. That's good to know. I'm pretty sure you can't transfer Marriott points, so I guess we a Hilton Family.
Hyatt seems like you have to spend a little more initially to get their reward. Toss me a Surpass referral link so I can sign up then I'll refer my wife. House Spending... CSP 60,000 Chase points to transfer to a CSR = $900 Hilton Surpass 125,000 x2 = $1250 Delta Amex (still up in the air about this one) $550. Seems like shitty value. That's about $9,000 in spend for $2500 in free points w/ only $400 in AFs
Will gladly pass on our link, but I feel obligated to warn you that the referral link is only showing a 125k bonus, whereas when I just went to the AmEx site to browse cards I was still seeing the 150k offer http://refer.amex.us/CARANLLPg?xl=cp01
Huh. When I looked just a few minutes ago it was 125k. Now it's 150k. Guess I'll have to go with the 150. Sorry
Does Amex restrict the number of sign up bonuses you can get with them? I have a card that I don't use (Delta Blue Sky) and a Delta Platinum that I rarely use. Don't have anything else with them & before they submitted my application they said I wasn't eligible for the sign up bonus due to number of cards/sign up bonus with them/balance transfers (don't do this)/etc. I'd have to imagine I'm 0/24 right now. The only cards I've opened up in the last year were two Chase Business Cards. My delta plat amex is probably 5 years old. I'm pretty fucking annoyed right now
Like 1 reward for any Amex related card? So I got the Delta card 6 years ago & I can't get any other bonus, no matter the Corp Sponsor, for another year?
Yeah, so that makes no sense that I'm getting rejected for the bonus. It's from a card I don't have. It's before they even run my credit.
They reserve the right to stop you from getting any cards if you are deemed unprofitable. It's called the "popup" but I'm not sure why you would get it at this point
Basically this. Sure, I understand they can deny me. But it doesn't feel like my activity with them is worthy of it. They aren't running my credit, so they can't see my other chase cards. My Delta Platinum was my sole card for at least 3 years with a fuck load of spend. I think I put most of my wedding on that card. So it's not like I'm spending $3,000.01 then never spending again on it
Seems like the only way to get around it is increase my spending on some amex cards and make my accounts more profitable Really fucking annoying as they have all the cards I want.
So I applied yesterday for the Mrs. for CIP6 and got rejected (first time ever being rejected). I just received the letter stating why and it states "Our decision was based on the following reason(s): Insufficient balance in deposit and investment accounts with us." So is there something new or that I did not know about where they will reject you if you dont have a bank account or investments with them? Is this due to corona?
It's probably a profitability thing. They make good money of holding your money. Not much off 5,000 in CC processing fees less 100,000 points Probably why I got popped at Amex. It's unprofitable for them to allow ppl to churn their cards. I'm worried Chase is going to start doing that on their other cards
No. General rule of thumb is to keep Chase credit to income ratio below 50%. Hers is at about 30%. Other rule of thumb is velocity and I havent gotten her a new card since January so that shouldn't be an issue either. I have a sneaking suspicion this has to do with Chase tightening up due to covid situation.
Chase is tightening approvals big time on business cards, as of mid-April. Most users on r/churning seem to be getting denied ATM.
that’s what I was asking. And yeah, they froze HELOC’s, so I imagine they’re tightening other funds. it was fun while it lasted.
Should be permanently 3x IMO. Would be the best card on the market and would help keep cancellations low.
