I’m working on the Venture X bonus right now, but like it so far. Hertz President Circle, Priority Pass, $300 travel credit, Global Entry/Precheck reimbursement, plus 2x on all purchases. It’s a really solid premium card. Here’s my Venture X referral link: https://capital.one/3wu90nt
Used your referral and approved. Ty. Hopefully someone will keep me in mind for a referral soon. I've always used TMB referrals here to help.
get a Scott’s cheap flights membership and then use chase UR to book the flights when you see them. let the deals plan your destination and dates, instead of starting with a destination and hoping for a deal. we have been never paid more than $550 or the equivalent UR number for any of our trips.
it depends on which city you’re in but I live in KC so stops are kinda the name of the game anyway. I follow multiple airports and often can save money by booking the trip from somewhere else and then booking a separate domestic flight to get to that airport
On the more proactive tip, you can try your luck stumbling across something appealing using ITA Matrix. This is the software google flights runs on, but this interface is far more powerful (there's a bit of a learning curve too.) What's great about it is that you can do multi origin/destination searches and you can browse price calendars instead of searching specific dates. It will time out if you make things too broad (too many possible destinations for instance) but, for example, you can see every option from either IAD or DCA to say 4 different Euro gateways for a given month. You can also apply advanced filters to limit results to particular airlines and even alliances, if mileage accrual/benefits are a thing. (There are a ton of filtering options related to fare buckets, service classes, layover prefs...)
They do have a referral, but I don’t want to steal it from GoodForAnother . If he doesn’t have one I can pass mine along tho.
Anybody got the Amex Marriott Bonvoy with the 50k free annual night? Got a question about when to expect the free annual night to post to the Marriott account. Card was opened 4/3/21. Have had statements post on 4/6/22 and 5/6/22 (this one included the $450 annual fee). It's now 5/25, I thought surely the free night would be in my account by now but it hasn't shown up yet.
Yeah I've read that but no way it can't take that long, right? The 35k free night from Chase posts the day of your anniversary.
Not much of a useful data point, but my annual free night with Chase Hyatt took over a month to show up. Closer to two IIRC.
If you’re in DC I would add the NY airports to your monitoring list on their site. There are constant Europe deals out of NYC and it’s an easy train ride for you. me and EMAW FC and Name P. Redacted are going to Oktoberfest this year and got RT to Berlin on United for $500ish out of Newark, then using SWA points to get there the night before and pairing a night in NYC with the trip. later we were able to move our return trip from Salzburg back to KC because of another United sale.
Due up for another card. Cant do Amex platinum or CSR/CSP. VentureX 100k is gone so figure I should wait till something like that shows up again to blow my load. Should I just scooped anothe Chase Ink Cash for 75k and see where we are again in two months or is there something out there right now that is very appealing?
Got a retention offer for 400 bucks after 3k in spend on platinum. I don’t think I can get one every year but this is not my first year getting one either
Is anyone a diner’s club member? I see it occasionally on card acceptance signs and I always wonder who actually has one of those.
Currently having a strangely good lounge experience in Liberia, CR airport. Beer is self serve. Food is good. This is their smaller airport too. Easily better than the MIA Centurion lounge.
I had one for like 4 months in 2011 when I started work but they quickly switched our corp card program to Amex
Anyone know if you can hold more than 1 Delta branded Amex? Trying to get some flights for free in December. I have a delta plat amex. I've had it for a long time. Gold has a 60k mile bonus for 99 AF.
Well Amex just gave me a 150k platinum offer when I went to pay my bill, so I guess that's what I'm going with. Time to downgrade the CSR.
have a plat and a reserve right now delta branded this reminds me i need to see if they'll give me a retention offer on my regular amex plat, wife is arguing we should keep two regular amex plats which is...sus edit: 40k pts for 3k spend in 3 months. ez.
What is that part about? Also figured out why I wasn't approved for the CSP. I didn't know I had a plain Chase Sapphire card open sitting around doing nothing. Guess I just close it? And wait until a strong offer for CSP sign up bonus comes along again since I'm working on the Venture X rn?
For Amex, you have 30 days from the statement close date that includes the AF to resolve any annual fee issues. There's some additional hoops you can jump through after that may have a favorable result, but it's best to get it taken care of prior to the 30 days passing
Yes - i've received it via overnight mail in the past + amex allows a virtual account number for you to use in online transactions until you get the physical card.
Dont close it if there is no annual fee (for credit score reasons). Chase ink cash sign up bonus is 75k chase points.
But can't you only have one Chase Sapphire card at a time? So what do I do to get rid of this so I can get the CSP bonus when a strong offer comes around again?
I totally missed the part where you are trying to get a CSP. Then yeah cancel the old sapphire card if thats your goal.
Step 1: Cancel the sapphire Step 2: Make a list of every credit card account you have open and when it was opened. Include any cards you've closed in the last few years as well. Step 3: Update the list every time you open/close a card.
I keep track of everything. I haven't closed cards previously or in years. I've always followed the advice here and changed to a non-af card. I haven't open CCs much the last few years. Just the Venture X two weeks ago. I'll work on it then move on to CSP again so that 48 month clock starts again.
