Yes, assuming you'll have no issue utilizing the extra points. In a roundabout way, you can buy 10,000 pts for $58, so 30k is the equivalent of $175
Looks like a targeted 100k offer is floating around. Worth asking for a match if you can only apply for 60k or 80k offer. http://www.doctorofcredit.com/chase...00-point-offer-applied-recently-last-90-days/
Got IHG and Hyatt. My line of credit is now double my income and I'm just under a million combined points #blessed
Free Japan trip is over. Already used Amex Starwood & Chase Preferred (both) points. What next? Still have AA points from Barclays and Citi stashed, but they’re a pain in the ass to use.
Hyatt is tits. Stayed at the Park Hyatt in Paris for 2 nights for free. About EUR 1600 in value with no fee in the first year. Absolute no brainer.
The link that was working a few days ago that I was able to find now takes you to the 45k sign up bonus page. Know where another is?
The two nights is dead, but I don't go high-end so I don't really care. It'll basically get me three or four nights in a place I would stay
The problem with redemptions at the Park Hyatt in Paris, Tokyo or NYC is the availability is completely gobshite - not to mention the amount of planning required ahead of time.
Pulled the trigger on the IHG 100K offer. Really need an Amex card to round out the wallet, wish I could have taken advantage of the SPG increased sign up earlier this year.
So I've got Chase Reserve, Freedom and Freedom Unlimited. Got me some nice points that paid for flights to Europe this fall. What card should I be looking at getting next?
Chase Sapphire Preferred (50k bonus on $4k spend in 3 months) - can then transfer those 50k points to your CSR for better redemption rate SPG Amex
Sorry should have included that, already had the preferred and downgraded it to the freedom this spring.
Apparently so. The public offer is 60k and there's an 80k offer floating around, but if you sign into your ihg.com account, there's (potentially) a targeted CC signup for 100k
Also need an Amex. I periodically get offers from them. Speaking of, what does everyone have? I don't carry all of these but here's what I've got: Discover Cashback - This is my oldest credit card and currently have almost $1,000 in cashback. Chase Sapphire Preferred Visa - Need to cancel this as I'm going to keep the Reserve. Chase Sapphire Reserve Visa - Mainly my everyday use, although Discover is 5% at restaurants right now. Chase Freedom Visa - Need to cancel this as I haven't used it in forever. Citi AAdvantage MasterCard - Use this mainly for business purchases. I have about 70,000 miles on it as I don't use it a ton. BoA Travel Visa- Got this when we went to Italy a few years ago. Haven't used it in a while. I only carry the CSR, Discover, and the Citi on a daily basis. Any suggestions as far as what to cancel or maybe apply for?
Barclays Arrival Plus is a $500 statement credit towards travel with a $3000 spend. Annual fee waived the first year.
I would highly recommend product changing any cards with annual fees to a non-annual fee version, and keeping them as open lines of credit, instead of closing. Closing would hurt your average age of accounts and credit utilization % (since you're taking away from your max credit) PC'ing the Chase Preferred into a Freedom Unlimited would be a good start
Super specific question Alert I'm buying a new phone and wondering if there is a better choice re:: the extended manufacturers warranty benefit Chase Sapphire Preferred vs Amex Delta Gold? They both extend by 1 year, and in reading the regular print I cannot find any material differences. Anyone else read the fine print to suggest why I should go with one over the other? If they are the same, I would go CSP because of Cashback instead of miles.
Don't know anything about warranties, but the people that handle claims for Chase regarding the Extended Return Period protection were some bitches to deal with. So tread lightly.

Just signed up online for Chase Freedom. Anyone know why my APR would be 24%? I have a credit score of around 750 and have had a credit card for 10 years now, always paid my balance, etc Only thing I can think of is that when I was applying I put in the full monthly rent amount for my house when I'm only paying half.
Pay your balance off on time and it's a non-issue. Honestly, I have no idea what the APR is on any of my cards off the top of my head.
Yea most of my rewards cards have APRs ranging from 19-25, and my credit score is good. The big rewards cards just come with those APRs to offset the perks I guess.
Looking for a new card, taking recommendations. Anything fitting the below criteria with signup bonuses running currently? APR doesnt matter, will be paying it off every month Prefer no yearly fee, but will consider a yearly fee card I prefer cash back rewards Credit score should qualify me for pretty much anything Want something with no foreign transaction fee for overseas trips
Chase Sapphire Reserve and then downgraded to Chase Freedom Unlimited after a year of you really don't think it's worth keeping
I got the United MileagePlus card at the beginning of May for the 70k point bonus. I spent that within a month, but my 70k hasn't hit my account on either the Chase site or the United site. Does it hit after the full 3 months?
If you want to maximize your rewards, you'll need multiple cards that you use for different categories of purchases. Travel cards with fees have way better rewards and sign-up bonuses. And you can always exchange your travel points for cash, but the points are worth more than the equivalent cash if the points are used for travel. If you're looking to use a card for overseas travel, you should definitely look at the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Chase Sapphire Preferred first. The Reserve is the best in the game, especially for travel. If you're set on a single cash-back card with no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee, Capital One Quicksilver may be best. You get 1.5% cash back on every purchase, there's no annual fee, no foreign transaction fee, and you get a $100 bonus if you spend $500 within the first three months. I believe the Freedom cards have foreign transaction fees though
You shouldn't have to wait until the full 3 months have passed to get the points. it should post to your account sometime after your statement close date for the billing cycle where you exceeded the minimum spend. Normally the first billing cycle is longer than 30 days. Do you know your statement close date?
CSR annual fee time is coming up. Keep going back and forth on what to do. Might PC it to a CSP because most of the benefits I care about are there. Price protection on the CSR is quite nice. And the 1.5x redemption.
Individual ways to justify $55: Spend a decent amount a year on restaurants and travel Going to two lounges Renting one car One delayed trip One purchase broken Getting one hotel in the portal I do all of those in one year and any one of them alone justified the cost
