They got to 20, but iirc Matt said they more than likely weren’t running a high level campaign this go around
If thats true then I think they run campaign 2 until the end of the year. I think they'll resolve the Lucien and Assembly storylines and call it quits.
not handling the tombtakers before leaving has likely caused a bunch of nonsense to happen thus doubling the number of episodes required deal with it. also good chance we see something ukatoa. no vandren appearance yet. calebs parents. etc.
Didn’t watch it last night live, watching while I eat lunch, and so far he’s said less than 2 sentences since they’ve started lol. so far this is about the most boring episode in either campaign. Zzzzzzzz
I know he’s more about combat, but they don’t EVER approach him for RP. He always has to pull the trigger. I know he and Laura had a moment later in the episode but I was mostly sleeping by then.
He lets other people take the spotlight, and only gets involved when it involves him directly. Even at the end, he only got involved when Laura brought him into it. campaign 2 seems so much heavier into RP than the first toward the end and I’m not feeling it. it’s pretty clear they are nearing full wrap up mode though.
update. i'm choosing to drop his 8 wisdom to 3. this is going to be an incredibly fun character to play.
No spoilers, but great job by Mercer of setting up that encounter. Was unique and challenging and yet set up up so the player could really not fuck it up, and yet the player almost found a way to fuck it up. Lol.
I just don’t get how she can play something with as many choices as cleric but not be able to run a tank
I don’t understand either. Although with cleric she used the same 4-5 spells over and over. but with barbarian she either forgets to rage, doesn’t use reckless attacks, but remembers to use her other abilities. I don’t get it. Forgets to add damage bonuses, etc. was going to willingly provoke 4 opportunity attacks last night. She’s definitely not a power gamer and I respect her commitment to staying in character and RP though.
What the fuck did you pick moon Druid then? I’m furious at the thought. That’s not even min/maxing that’s just the character.
he picked it because we went to session 0 with no one having any clue how d&d works and he thought druid sounded cool. he started as circle of land and still didnt play it properly, ended up switching to moon and yeah. seems like an obvious summon then wild shape approach? well, not really. he's playing an eldritch knight/divine soul sorcerer build i came up with this time around which is far more complicated than moon druid. we're doing curse of strahd so he's doing a Simon Belmont character named Simone Belmunt. as bad as he is at combat he's even worse at names.
Honestly the most fun I’ve had in DND is playing a barbarian because it’s so fun to just charge in, get advantage on every single attack, add GWM and hit for huge numbers. almost every melee class would kill for advantage on attacks and not using it is criminal especially with built in half damage reduction.
i never used mine but thats only because the other party members never used what i gave them, which is more annoying than me not using it
Re: dice I only have 1 pair, a $5 ugly brown colored set I bought at my local game shop the first time I played an adventurer’s league/west marches game. if I ever actually play in a real campaign (have never done that yet), I might actually have to upgrade.
there was a episode of some show (can’t remember which one) where the enemy already had advantage on attacks and the player still wasn’t using reckless.
i think Sam is the best all around player. He has the funniest moments, the most heartfelt moments, he has been one of the most important in battle characters in both campaigns. It annoys me when he does things to make things hard himself or the party on purpose though
i feel like there's about three episodes left unless they take some time off before one last adventure like they did in c1
Yeah the only hanging thread was the Cerberus Assembly. Spoiler Matt all but confirming that Trent was following allows CA and Sumnovim plots to be wrapped within a couple of episodes
Max 5 with 1 wrap up assuming they win/survive. I think we’re 2 from BBEG fight, 1 to wrap Caleb’s arc, 1 last to finish the story. also Jester is the absolute best character in this campaign by far. Her message spell alone is so hilarious.
session 0 part 1 was last night. party comp looks like this: owlfolk moon druid/pally protector aasimar divine soul sorcerer/eldritch knight warforged forge cleric reborn (construct) divine soul sorcerer half dragonborn draconic bloodline sorcerer mark of passage human peace cleric all of the sorcerer subclasses have been homebrewed to include additional spell tables like the ones from tasha's
3 out of 5 are sorcerers, and 2 of those are divine soul? Is there a reason behind that, or just that's what people wanted to be?
yeah it was pretty crazy to see everyone come up with a character independently and end up with 5/6 capable of healing
somehow, it's just what everyone wanted to be. i'm doing the divine soul because i wanted to be a construct created by a god. with the other guy divine soul just happened to be the best sorcerer class, rp wise, for the build he wanted to do. the draconic guy was the last one to make a character and had no idea what anyone else was doing.
