Humor and chaos/fun A-tier. Characters overall B-tier. Combat C-tier. Plot and story C-tier. it’s very forgettable but not awful. *edit* oh nvm you said rewatch. Hard pass from me
Yes. I have now completed episode 1. Idk if I'm grading on a curve or what, but Laudna feels like a massive leap in character quality and RP for Marisha. Already her best character ever. FCG and Ashton really are not doing anything for me so far.
I think Sam is 100% playing the long game so he can eventually make the reveal/joke that FCG murdered Pussy (and Co.)
I do not recall Laudna doing any sorcerer specific things. Why is everyone calling her a sorlock? Is it the lack of any apparent pact boon?
Character i played the longest before i became the forever dm was a shadow/fiend pact sorlock. Excited to see if she can play this thing up to its potential.
you should go find that info. its nice to see them not make terrible decisions when assigning ability scores.
Yeah Laudna is great and I think she’s going to have some great backstory given her Whitestone heritage and possible patrons. Plus Sorlocks are easy to be effective in combat. FCG is a robot Ted Lasso. Big fan. ashton saying the F word every other sentence is pretty underwhelming.
2 Mercer homebrew characters is a real drag. Whatever Ashton is is definitely not balanced at level 3
Marisha's character is something different Spoiler: Seriously, a spoiler she's a "Hollow One" from Explorer's Guide to Wildmount. She's basically undead.
Spoiler Don’t know if anyone else heard it, but Laudna and Imogen have known each other for 2 years according to Laura. She was talking while Pate de Rolo was doing his thing
Wonder how long Darian and Bertrand are sticking around. I would not be upset about either of them being around for a long while.
I enjoy Robbie at this table and would love Darian to stick around. Still not a fan of Bertrand, but Travis makes the character 10x better than I think he is practically.
Fearne is growing on me, I am growing to appreciate the fey chaos imogen is definitely playing the straight laced face of the group though. +4 Char mod.
And 4 different (random?) rage types. I know im in the minority of CR fan base, but Tal’s characters are most of the time my least favorite
some crazy dumps in that. 3 characters have -2 on stars and 1 has a -3. I feel like if you roll a character with a 5 you should just get to roll a new character
I liked Caduceus a lot, especially in his early going, where everything outside the grove was exciting and new to him. Also grave cleric is my single favorite subclass in the entire game, so I'm biased
Just got done with episode one, Liam and Robbie’s characters seemed to fit in a lot better. Maybe it was the pacing or that they didn’t have so much focus on them. Not digging Ashton right now, seems like a teenage version of Molly with his juvenile nihilism
Cad > Percy > Ashton > Molly Laudna > Beau > Keyleth jester > Vex > Imogen Grog > fjord > Bertrand Fearne > pike > yasha Scanlan > FCG > Nott/Veth Caleb > Vax > Orym
I agree with all but the Twins. I think we give Imogen and Orym more of a chance. The twins were pretty barebones DnD characters.
all of Travis and Sam’s characters have been great. Also don’t think Travis is playing his main character yet
my thoughts on the characters after two episodes: Ashton is lame. surely theres more to the character. Orym is interesting. hes really passive but it seems more of a social anxiety thing than a dark past thing. i can tell liam is enjoying playing him. Fearne is great. I wish we could see fearne + jester. Laudna is one of the best characters theyve ever done. thanks to marisha for taking it seriously for round 3. Bertrand is being played perfectly and fits in super well. if he leaves im sure travis has something good lined up. if not im cool with that too. id be really cool with old man bertrand suddenly being order of the lycan because stuff happens. dorian and robbie fit in really well too. glad to see them doing something other than the same 7 players. covid though. FCG is just more sam nonsense in a different form. im sure theres some deep shit with them. really enjoying the continued efforts of same to make characters that are the exact opposite of previous ones, such as fcg's desire for everyone to share everything about themselves. imogen is interesting. well, psionics are interesting. you can really tell that accent is natural for her.
rewatching theres a moment in which tal is playing cad again. is ashton just abrasive cad? thats boring.
Tal loves an abrasive character. Percy, Owlbear Man, his cinderbrush character, Ashton are all abrasive in different ways. Molly wasn’t so much abrasive as a HUGE personality, Cad was in the background
Molly’s awful character build choices not withstanding, talesin plays combat well but I think is the weakest actor of the group (Marisha had the title, but is great this campaign).
Just saw a clip of Laura fucking with Liam when he was trying to eat last week and I can’t stop laughing
So it seems like Talks was shut down, and not by Fosters wanting to step away. What a weird dynamic since he’s engaged to Ashley but her company seems like they told him they didn’t need him involved in CR. Full quotes in the thread.
yeah, it has been strange. from those quotes it seemed like they wanted him to do x but he wanted to do x, y, and z. not sure what that means exactly. could be he wanted to do more stuff with cr but they werent going that direction. i doubt we ever know for sure but i cant imagine a group of people no one ever has complaints about told him to pack his bags hecause they didnt need him anymore.
As well, again, his fiancé being a part of that group. But it’s not like they’ve never kicked someone out.
