I haven't quite finished the last episode (about a half hour to go) but I had an idea. Spoiler it seems like lots of people want Travis to play a lycanthrope blood hunter (I'm not certain why). There were talks of a dire wolf attack in the last episode and "The Anger" is still "injured" from an attack a while back. What if he's become a werewolf and that's what the dire wolf attacks are? And he's "injured" still while they're trying to cure him?
random words: Spoiler the only reason travis would think he has advantage on history without actually having it would be if he's a blood hunter
I was listening to episode 9 and was thinking the same thing. It’s just really slow paced and nothing is really happening. I feel like they need to get out of the city
https://variety.com/2022/digital/news/critical-role-legend-of-vox-machina-cast-1235158619/ Dude, they're killing it with the added voice talent
also Spoiler that was a fun reveal even though it was hinted at pretty hard. seems like chetney will he around a while, sorry @ those who dislike him for whatever reason. again, on dndbeyond theres only one way to get "fake" advantage on history checks and thats being a blood hunter. i mentioned that itt when it happened iirc
The animated series is actually really good. Scanlan needs to be toned down a little bit but I thought it was super solid so far.
i agreed to watch it tomorrow with some people but i still wanted a taste. got to the first "oh ok, so theyre just letting scanlan be scanlan huh" moment and stopped. everything was great.
The acting and writing was A+. Pacing was great too. I wished they would have just released every episode at once, but I get that’s not the way Amazon does it.
For future reference they come out at 7 pm est on Thursdays for us. So next week you can watch the new episode right before the campaign starts
The only issue I have from the first three episodes is that I wish they would have shown the moment for the actual game where Vex double crits while the Briarwoods are about to finish off Vax. That was my first “Holy Shit that seems scripted it’s so thematically perfect” moment
As I said in the other thread it’s more adult than I thought but my kids had to learn about this stuff at some point. Didn’t expect to see scanlan eating some chick out in the first 5 minutes of the show
they did say watch it then decide if your kids are mature enough for such. always stressing how adult it would be. we should have known that was because of scanlan.
I think if I can skip the bit with Scanlan and the girl my kids would be fine with the language and violence aspects. If not, it's relatively brief. I'll watch all of the episodes before them anyway
its one of the class specific ones from tasha's. all of them are really good. tbh i wouldnt be upset with a trend toward more powerful items like c1 but perhaps not thaaaat far.
Besides fjords sword, all the other magic items in C2 seemed meh. No? Matt broke C1 by allowing pathfinder magic items in. Scanlan’s +2 magic cone seemed busted early in the campaign. And however Percy had 22 dex by level 11
That wasn’t said with malice my friend. More sadness that not more people will the watching TLOVM even though it’s awesome
It’s doing incredibly well so far, and streaming shows like this usually take a season or 2 for other people to loop back in and find what they are missing. I haven’t played D&D since TMB group fizzled out (because of my schedule), but I’ve had such a craving to play lately.
Going to play some D&D with some guys from work in a couple weeks for a one-shot and I get to just play and not DM! Yay! Currently looking at playing a non-optimal, halfling wild magic barbarian/fighter multi-class, dual-weilding a warhammer and battleaxe, that giggles when he goes into a rage. Horace Hornswaggle. Looks like we're going to be 10th level.
Watched the first two episodes. Really enjoyed myself. Been a long time since I watched an animated series. After the first episode I thought, I can’t believe these are only 15 minutes a pop, then looked at the run time and it was 28 minutes.
