McElroys are doing a Balance one-shot in Seattle 8/31. If I weren’t going to Canada 10 days later, I’d be there.
seems cr and wotc have a fine relationship still due to taldorei reborn getting a dndbeyond release. also daggerheart looks as convoluted as youd expect from them. i dont think i really have any interest in it but we'll see.
Finally was able to finish it this week, so damn good. Going to do The Ravening War next before diving into something else
Going to the comic con in Portland this weekend and got passes for the Critical Role panel. Nerd card engaged
If you guys have any good questions, assuming they have a Q&A, drop them here and I'll see if I can ask
Mighty nein reunion was really, really good for a one shot. Not their best ever one shot but really good.
yeah he completely and totally should have killed him/them. Literally said "don't do this" and even the party was like "hmm, maybe that should go to Ferne instead".
feels like the stakes have been lowered for the rest of the season. Molly dying was such an inflection point in campaign two, wish Ashton would have followed suit. I don’t know what powers he’s going to get now but it feels like it’s going to be nerfed and Matt is going to have to change the story he had set up
I've committed to trying to catch up in C3 of CR. I just finished e30. I can't wait to see where this goes after what just happened with the telescope(not wanting to go to deep, but as a hopeful tip in where I'm at in story)
try to enjoy it while it lasts. c4 will almost certainly be with daggerheart and that shit is a disaster.
Well I don’t have any allegiances, so just like candela obscura if it’s not for me I just won’t tune in
The basement scene that took place after a huge lore dump. Incredible. Onto episode 44. Just over a year behind from being current.
This week’s episode was a good one. I think the best of this campaign. Spoiler I think I would have narratively preferred a TPK and a new campaign, but excellent use of a “blaze of glory” PC death. If they go C4, I’m not sure it’s gonna be DND, they had amazingly positive fan response to their Daggerheart one shot characters, wouldn’t be surprised if they roll that into C4.
i was looking through what theyre offering on beacon and noticed c1 isnt on there. is that because orion or g&s?
Ashton is the worst PC in any of the 3 campaigns by such a huge margin, I almost have to skip his story parts.
I saw the addition of “other DnD shows” to the thread title. Are there any good Pods that are PG-10? Im very liberal with what he watches but Scanlan singing about his big cock is a bit much even for me. Kiddo has been in a DnD club since he was 6 (Necro w/ skeletal archers, added the “extreme rizz” skill on his latest campaign…fucking Zoomers).
Ep118 of C3 was Thursday night. I’m just at the point where I am completely missing the party’s motivation and plan. Like they are here at the BBEG/end of the campaign and they have no clear plan or unified idea, half of them are just “along for the ride”. It’s making the end of this campaign feel very weird, disjointed, and incoherent. Really awful group dynamics and I am just ready for a new story/campaign because this one ain’t it. In a nutshell, there’s too many of the cast who are just basically playing supporting roles without any stakes in the main story outcome and 2 of the 4 who actually seem to be invested in what actually happen are such dumpster fires that they can’t communicate to the group what they think or want to do. such a frustrating watch. Hopefully it’s over in ep119 or 120 because this is bad.
i stopped somewhere in the 80-85 range. tried to go back a few times but couldn't do it. thought about restarting to see if that would help but that's a whole ass thing. maybe the anime will be more compelling than the lp.
I bailed around 40. Laudna and Chet just weren't enough to keep me around when the rest of the party wasn't compelling to me and the plot was impossibly dense. At least I'll always have campaign 2.
This has felt the most “made for tv” campaign of the bunch. They fell right into the big arc and have taken 100 episodes to still not be done.
saw someone hypothesize months ago that’s why this campaign has sucked, the enemies haven’t scaled with the characters. Right off the bat there’s a world altering event that is coming but they’re at such a low level they do all these stupid side quests that don’t really get them closer to the end goal so it’s feels like what the hell are you guys doing
