Harrison Beck should I educate this person on $LOOKS and the "waste of money" that I just cashed out yesterday? The free airdrop to compensate the gas fees I paid for last year. These posts are lame and feed right into my narravtive. Thanks for playing.
And I just wanted to brag about being an idiot and selling my free tokens when I could have gotten 700% APR for staking. Buy $LOOKS and not NFTs is the real move atm. Also if you're lonely you should check out the simpDAO movement.
this is the two-step every crypto person makes (setting aside that fried was just joking) if you think the use case is poor, just pivot to the speculation case
90% of the people ITT are making poor arguments and speculating. I got the joke. The part about "being a waste of money" played into the gas fees being expensive and NFTs as being a scam or just JPEGs. I also gave a use case (jokingly FYI) of NFTs helping make the blood flow again. There's a use case for everything without you having to take my response so seriously and speculate back.
This is where the shit makes no sense to me. Someone is offering $4600 for the NFT that can be exchanged for a real pair. Yet you can just buy a real pair and have them shipped to your house today for $600.
Goat already has this service. You can buy a pair, store it in your locker at their warehouse, then sell it later. You never see or touch the shoe. It really is a stock market for shoes. I get buying an NFT and holding it until you want to sell and the nft being attached to that shoe. You have a wallet of nft's/shoes that you can can sell at any time. But $4600 for an nft attached to a $600 shoe? That shoe may one day get to $1k, but that's it. It's never ever ever going to be worth $4600 so why on earth would someone pay $4600 for an nft backed by a real shoe that will never be worth more than $1k?
You quoted me saying Nike will never go the resell marketplace route with a post about StockX releasing NFT's. Congrats on your NFT. I'm actually wearing those shoes today.
Let's stop doing this whole "you quoted me shit" because if you go back to that conversation I also told you that Nike wasn't building a resale marketplace but alluded to someone else doing so. You made the whole "Nike resale" topic up yourself. Nike is next though. Just not for secondary.
I'm not here to argue about why people spend money on dumb shit. Few people here care about someone in their 40s buying shoes marketed towards teenagers and young adults, but here you are seeking your validation by announcing you're wearing a pair. I don't understand Prada, but I understand eCommerce workflows and why these brands are making these announcements now. I'm not in denial about this or continuing to come up with the "BUT IT ALREADY EXISTS" argument. Like vehicles, cell phones, or computers never change
I've always said using NFT's in sneakers makes a lot of sense so not sure why you're getting angry. The authentication purposes are legit. But that would need to come from Nike, not stockx. I think paying $5k for an nft attached to a shoe worth $700 is dumb as fuck but we'll see how it plays out. I haven't seen anything on this stockx project that's new. Goat already allows you buy pairs and hold them in your locker. For the user, the end result is the same. This seems like another rebrand of something that already exists.
lol at thinking limited sneakers are marketed to teenagers that can't afford them. You're out of your space here.
I'm not angry lol Maybe if someone curses a lot or types in caps you can make that assumption. We're 100% not connecting the dots or making the same arguments though and I would understand why someone would make these comments.
You saying limited sneakers are marketed to teenagers shows how clueless you are about that space. Nike is holding an auction at fucking Sotheby's next week. How many teenagers do you think will be bidding?
"In total, 7% of American adults consider themselves sneakerheads. These individuals are most likely to fall within the 18-34 age range and belong to an ethnic minority." You're outside the targeted age group, are you not? Is 18 a teenager?
Penguin The Duck I find it funny that you give user15000 so much shit for being a btc max when you're the exact same guy, just for nft's. If anyone questions nft's taking over the world, you get offended and lose your shit. It's hilarious to watch so keep doing it.
I'm saying they are more marketed towards an 18 year old than someone like you, 100% Sotheby's is a big deal and also not marketed towards someone like you
I just love getting these emotionally triggered responses where people gaslight me b/c they're upset about a topic they apparently don't care about
There's sneakers and then there's limited sneakers. It's two different worlds. I'm not surprised you don't grasp that. FYI I don't consider myself a "sneakerhead."
The biggest thing in limited sneakers is retros of pairs from about 1985-1996, before the 18 yr old was alive. Think about why that is.
Weird, I'll be bidding on Sotheby's next week. I'm literally the guy they are targeting next week. An 18 yr old isn't spending $10k on a Nike x LV AF1.
prob just lose the auction to some NFT DAO that thinks they will be able to cut the shoe up and sell it as 10,000 NFTs sorry for your loss
Awesome. Sotheby's has hosted crypto auctions in the past so let's not say it's batshit or put it past them to eventually do a similar NFT sale/auction for your cool collectibles. Congrats on being more informed and interested in shoes than me.
They probably will at some point. I'm kinda surprised they aren't attaching an nft to the physical pairs in the auction for authentication purposes down the road. I wish they were. These pairs are only being sold at Sotheby's so the proof of purchase from them will always cover me if I do buy a pair and want to sell them down the road. But if I don't buy a pair from them, I'd be very skeptical of buying a pair 5 years from now bc the fakes of them will be absurd and authentication past the og buyer with proof of purchase from Sotheby's will be super sketch. Thanks.
You at least understand what an NFT is, or will be used for, instead of most ITT who think it's a cat picture they saved a copy of. NFT = digital signature and that's it
there's an entire thread dedicated to mocking ppl that have died that's prob a bit more cringe than the "batshit" things I've posted HTH
...you have your own thread for this topic full of people that care about this very thing. You're posting in this one because you're seeking validation. FOH.
I feel like responding to a thread about me OR responding to a post with updated info (which I did today) is justifiable. I didn't just post my ETH wallet and decide to start this thread, either. Someone else put forth the effort to do both, just like you're putting forth the effort to respond in a thread directed @ me.
And Chumbolone started this thread because he wanted to out me. He was emotionally triggered about me tagging him in the NFT thread and thought I was lying about my success with NFTs. What I said wasn't cringe or untrue. It's 100% what happened with the OP and with dbl comparing me to user. I'm passionate about NFTs. It's my career. It's not out of line to think I've consulted and coordinated with some of these brands as a PM with their eCommerce platform, either... Why would I not respond?
For clarification, to get him to stop spamming the NFT thread. I even admitted in that thread I shouldn't have tagged him or user, or made the post to begin with.
And yet, Lyrtch may be right, you should be embarrassed because- --this is so far past what ANYONE (for God's sake you're arguing with DBL) would consider rational, or even defensive behavior. It's like you have goddamn NFT rabies dude. Furthermore, as I've noted before, your behavior ITT would turn off even those of us who might be open to learning. You want to teach me something, okay, first rule, don't be a condescending cocksucker.
Because a lot of things with NFTs happened this week, and the StockX was relevant to your interests. Maybe I'm just terrible with engagement and enjoy the rustled responses? Idk. And tbh the embedded tweet-catting is exactly something user would do in the crypto thread, I'll admit that. Maybe I also think these brands, sports, pop culture events tied to crypto are more exciting than Singapore removing its BTC atm machines or some third world country forcing its citizens to adopt it as their currency. Why does it matter if you're not interested? Maybe not responding doesn't feed the validation I'm seeking, right?
I'm on stockx multiple times a day. You think you were educating me on their nft release? Probably best to stay in the nft thread and not tag people to argue about something you care 1000x more about.
Nah, I don't think that. A lot of the "you think" type posts I can't control and are inaccurate. I said a lot of things re:NFTs happened this week. There were more tweets than just the StockX one, right? Just like you did the whole "you're angry" post earlier. Look a few posts up and let's compare who's angry. And just like the "you begged for this thread" is taken out of context. I'm not the one who took the energy to create this thread or dig up my wallet and link it here. I simply wanted the shitposting to stop in the NFT thread where everyone but myself had kept things civil. I felt bumping your post to share the news w/ you, which I had not seen posted yet and to also post the other brands/tweets was more relevant ITT than the NFT or crypto thread. And I know you understand collectibles as well as most do here even though we don't have the same opinion or understanding of NFTs (or shoes)
You said you made more in NFTs than I did in crypto. And you were wrong. The rest is irrelevant. Good luck with NFTs.
