Accrington Stanley v Tranmere was abandoned after Accrington's Tom Bender was seriously injuried in a collision with his keeper and Tranmere player. He was unconscious for a period of time and is in stable condition at a hospital. Some reports are saying a broken neck.

Anyone remember the last match that was called off due to injury?

Did they end the match when Marc-Vivien Foe died on the pitch?

Nope I am pretty sure they picked the game up after he was taking to the hospital.

    Tom Bender Update

Accrington Stanley defender Tom Bender is being kept in hospital overnight for observation after he was stretchered off in tonight's game with Tranmere.
Stanley Chief Executive Rob Heys has been to visit the 18-year-old.
"Tom is now fully conscious," he said. "He has been for a scan which has come back as normal."
"He is severely concussed and is being kept in overnight for medical staff to keep an eye on him, but he's stable and that's great news."
The Johnstone's Paint Trophy match was abandoned earlier this evening after the youngster was hurt.
Further details on his condition will be posted here on the official website.
