Yeah download to your computer and stream it to your tv with plex. If you're not planning on saving it it probably would be more reliable to do that.

Just got a firestick and installed Kodi. What are the best add-ons to watch movies and premium channel (HBO, Showtime, etc) content? Also, are there any good sports add-ons?
This is the way to go but keep in my mind you need decent-awesome internet to stream wirelessly from your computer to plex on your TV. Also you need a way to get plex on your tv in the first place. I have an older tv in my daughter's bedroom and there I plug an Amazon firestick into the tv and it allows the plex app to show up. In the living room I have a new tv and it came with plex on it which is convenient. Plex is nice because with one click it will scan your computer and update your library of movies and tv shows.
Just cut the cord. Bought a wall antenna and went with PS Vue. Currently using an old Roku stick I already had. Interface is clunky but worth it for the money saved. Is there a way to integrate the antenna and PS Vue inputs with a single device and channel guide?

im having trouble getting smoothstreams installed on my firetv...got it installed on the firestick but i was such a pain in the ass i dont remember how i did it. ive been able to get other addons added without a problem but theres some extra step i cant remember that i need to do for smoothstreams...anyone know?

Upgraded to 75mbps with Comcast today, and it's screaming. Why does my watch espn stream suck so badly? Tried it on a fire stick and on PC - both were equally shitty. Side note / related - is there a consensus on best streaming box? I've had mixed results with fire stick and chromecast.
I could be wrong but I think that's on espn. My espn was shit last week for the finals now it's working perfectly.
My ESPN streams seem to always suck, but no issues with any other service. It's gotta be on their end.
It always has been on their end, but admittedly live streams are always harder than something like Netflix, for example.
NBC Sports app is like Watch ESPN app. Poor quality sometimes even though Vue is fine. Must have something to do with them. Maybe less buffering/delay than the minute or two you get on Vue?
Watchespn sucks. I have gigabit internet, pull around 400 mbps and espn is constantly buffering or just shit quality.
Fusion is just a repo giving you access to install a group of addons, most of which are useless for what most people use Kodi for. Exodus is only one add on, it's not even a build. This includes Exodus and a whole lot more.
Major crackdown in the Kodi world. EU ruling made it illegal to sell the "Kodi boxes" (already illegal here) and illegal to not only download or host but to also just stream content. Netflix, HBO and 28 other companies formed an anti piracy group. Dish Network sued TVAddons and it's now gone. Tons of add-ons gone or no longer work. Shit exploded too fast. People peddling the boxes on Facebook, eBay, Amazon, etc had to play a big role.
TV networks and movie studios need to take it as a sign that they need to step their shit up. There will always be piracy, but most people are going to pay for a product if they believe it's worth it.
They don't think like that though. They're more interested in in their current/more established model of business rather than evolving.
All 3 of the sports streaming apps are bad. IMO ESPN is the best/most stable, NBC is ok. Fox is the worst by far.
I rarely use any of them. Really just ESPN for SECN during football and basketball season, and NBC for EPL. And for Soccer, it's a last result if I cant find an acestream or something. I dont rely on either all that often. Maybe if used them more, Id experience the same thing

I honestly haven't had time to really read about it. It does seem like some add-ons are still working. SALTS, 1Channel, some others. Not really sure what the long term affect will be. I watched a movie using Exodus last night but some of the features weren't working. Who knows what will happen when this dust settles, but it's probably a good idea to use a VPN with Kodi.
No, if you live in America. Kodi still works fine. It's not illegal to stream. Just don't host or torrance shit.
It depends on the add-on and how it works. Technically if it's streaming and not downloading/p2p, I think it's legal in the US but it could violate your ISPs TOS and you could get a cease and desist notice. I think we'll see the US follow suit with the EU and the temporary files generated by streaming illegally hosted content will not be exempt from copyright laws.
Yep it's only a matter of time. I only use it to watch stuff I missed during the week since I don't have a DVR. Basic cable built into my rent and the only way to get a DVR is to pay $70 a month for a cable account (despite already paying for cable as part of my rent) and that doesn't include any fees like cable box rental, DVR fee, HD fee, etc. And fuck paying twice for cable TV.
