Do this instead https://troypoint.com/install-terrarium-tv-on-fire-tv-or-fire-tv-stick/ Just one app you install, don't need to get any add-ons other than maybe a video player, which the app prompts you to install So much simpler, and I don't have to be dealing with add-ons dying and having to find new ones to replace them.
So, I use several of these methods to watch movies/tv through my fire stick or chromecast. I've discovered a new one if you have a bunch of movies already downloaded and just want to stream them from your computer. Plex. I have an app on my phone, firestick and the server app is on my computer and it connects to my external media server. Out of all of the different apps/programs I've tried over the years, plex is the easiest interface for streaming things I already have. It automatically downloads the data for the files so it looks like netflix when you're scrolling through looking for something to watch. I've had it for about 2 weeks now and I'm a big fan already. Here is an article just wrote about it too. I don't use the pay side of it because the free version gives me everything I need. http://www.shacknews.com/article/103291/plex-media-server-review-yes-have-some
Plex is nice and it's been around for a solid 5 years. Works well, I actually stream movies off my buddy's server using that. He's been at it since I can remember, has 12TB now and needs more space. But long story short, if you have a few good friends and can share an account that works well too.
I used Plex when I downloaded shit. Loved it. I've since moved on to just streaming everything instead of downloading
When streaming how good is the quality? I had kodi but wasn’t impressed with the quality of streams I found.
I had a Plex server set up on my computer (this was before Pex cloud existed). Since it was all done over a local area network connection, it streamed like a charm even on my shit tier internet connection. You can get a lot more streams, a lot more of which are in HD, if you used something like real-debrid. Costs approximately $20 every 6 months but gives you access to a ton more streams because it enables you to use the streams that are behind the premium paywall on all these file hosting websites. And if you would prefer to just download your media, real-debrid would still help there. You just have to take the download link for the file, paste it on the real-debrid website, and then you will get the high-speed downloads. The below link will tell you which file hosting websites it supports Many Kodi add-ons will support real-debrid, and the Terrarium app does as well. Just re-upped for my second 6-month period, definitely worth the cost. https://real-debrid.com/compare
I am a member of premium private torrance sites so I wouldn’t need it to download I ado wouldn’t want to pay for illegal stream sites. I was just wondering how good free stream sites are.
My 75 mbps promotion @ $50/month with comcast just expired and jumped to $80. Get on with their chat support and they came back with a hell of a deal. $50 for 25 mbps and access to their streaming services!
I've had good luck with chat too. If you call in you will just get a drone who will read off what's available on their site.
Post was sarcasm. Best offer I ended up getting was 100 @ $75/month. Found out recently frontier is in my area and they are offering 100 @ $30/month or 150 @ $40/month.
Apple TV 4k update: many of my digital titles are playable on 4k/4khdr from iTunes on the device, but there is no reciprocity back across Movies Anywhere to sync 4k/4khdr status back to google play or vudu. Just found that interesting. Titles reedeemed originally at SD seemed to be stuck on SD, no up conversion at all. I think at least a dozen or two of my titles received upgrade to 4k/4khdr on iTunes.
MyStreams still isn’t working for me after clearing the cache. May have to head back to delayed streams and buffering
I can never watch HD movies on Kodi. Always just goes down to the SD ones and I have no idea why :( I just got my Fire Stick today and I randomly searched for the movie "IT" and it found like 400 SD versions and only one 1080p, which wouldn't even work. I'm using this Covenant thing. I'm a n00b.
Just officially cancelled my cable and internet with spectrum. Went up to $180 a month and they were going to cut $10 only from my bill even after I said I was cancelling. I had no premium channels Called frontier (only other option here in Tampa) and am getting internet for $25 a month plus a free year of prime that I can use after my yearly subscription is up in a few months I'm going to do a Hulu live 7 day trial, then direct TV now trial and maybe a YouTube TV trial. So I get free tv for a month or so. Sling doesn't work for me due to wife's channels I will probably do direct TV now at least for a while as I can get an Apple TV 4k for free if I prepay months I have an HD antenna already that I know I can get the 4 networks and I have a Netflix login and a friends Plex account Honestly feels great. Wife wasn't too sure but convinced her the 4-600 bucks a year we saved would be put aside to add to a big vacation we are already talking about next year
I’m having the same issues. Even followed every instruction and updated...also send a help desk ticket and nothing.
It took awhile to convince mine. Eventually she got tired of hearing me rant about it and said fucking go ahead and do it. Once youtubetv came out with their app she has no complaints any more besides not having NBC. Of course the one network youtubetv doesn't have.
this appleTV is great Det. Frank Bullitt timing was perfect since my fireTV was getting slow besides for Netflix
fuck yes getting tnt and the tbs/tru tv combo is great for nba tnt games and the ncaa tourney/nba playoffs in the next couple months
also there is a note on an article i read that they will be adding mlb.tv in the coming months for an additional charge i wonder if youtubetv is planning on subsidizing some of the cost of a subscription for that to get people watching? would kill for something like that with league pass
Just jumped on the Terrarium train and am thoroughly impressed with the clarity of the first movie I watched.
What's nice is it just works once you have it installed. No having to go out there looking for add-ons to manually install. You ready to start streaming as soon as it's installed.
I use this to watch stuff I don’t want to download to my server. I have been a big fan since I downloaded it.
Yeah I first downloaded it a few months ago when all the upheaval was going down with Kodi add-ons and then later URLresolver. Haven't gone back to Kodi since.
Just downloaded Terrarium. Thanks Shawn Hunter. Really wanted to watch Star Wars tonight but there are no HD feeds.
That will be a problem with a lot of stuff on any of these types of things. A lot of the HD feeds are behind the premium wall on the file hosting websites. Refer to the below quoted post for how to help resolve that problem. Applies to Terrarium and Kodi (though each Kodi add-on has to support it individually).
You sign up on the real-debrid (RD) website. You go into the Terrarium settings and enter your RD login info. Probably will be prompted to enter a verification code on the real-debrid website upon login. Then you are ready to rock and roll.
Keep in mind, bandwidth BLOWS for this shit. Takes forever and you may need to complete one piece at a time. Spoiler Working on resolving the SS issue based on really nothing but an internet trail. Figured I would log my progress if it's helpful for anyone else. First I changed my password on shadow site. Make sure you change it to something all lower case and no special characters. After you change that hit the button to watch live TV and log in with your new password. May take 30 minutes or may require a ticket. Install mystreams, instructions below. https://www.youtube.com/embed/Yf0Gb9imhOo?start=1 Wait a bazillion years for mystreams to DL all required to work. Enjoy, I am up and running again, couldn't even tell you how long it took to DL.
