Discovery plus is free for a year as a Verizon customer. Just go on your add-ons and enable it.
i only got six months.
I just checked and mine was 12mo as free. I have get more plan with 2 lines. Idk.
yeah, probably. i've only got 1 line
I pay $50 between Netflix and splitting YTTV. That’s not counting things like prime, Disney plus, and Hulu, and Apple Music that are included with things I pay for regardless.
After taxes I’m now paying $70 for YouTube TV. Internet’s $60. Another $30 for Netflix and hbo max. I thought it was supposed to be cheaper?
YTTV sports plus pack users - I’m probably going to drop the pack now that nfl season is over. I can’t imagine that there is any benefit to keeping it for 7 months because I don’t watch any of the other channels. YouTube doesn’t appear to grandfather rates either. Anyone think differently?
I always pause my YTTV when college football ends.
Already stopped/unsubscribed from that on the last week of the regular season.
How do I use Spectrum’s streaming app on a streaming device?
Whatever device is easiest. My parents need to use it and getting them to understand and convert over to entirely streaming isn’t likely.
if you want to jitterbug the situation I’d look at getting them a Roku or Roku TV. It looks like they run that app and the interface is really simple. You can set it up with one or two things to click on, and they’re big easy tiles.
Spectrum no longer lets you do new installs on Roku devices.
anyone having issues with YTTV on Roku TVs? mine has crashed 4 times in less than an hour.
Been watching mine for an hour and a half this morning and no problems
Watching YTTV all day no issues
must've been the ACC Network then. haven't had any issues after i changed channels.
Just switched to YouTube TV about a week ago. Any tips or things I should know? I’m still finding some features as I go.
You can customize your channel lineup which is nice. Make sure your most watched channels are first, sports channels together, etc...
Also one nice thing with the DVR is you can select an entire league or sport you're interested in and just select that to always record and no worries about space cause DVR is unlimited storage. For example I love F1 and golf therefore you can search for PGA Tour or Formula 1 and just select to record every PGA Tour tourney and every F1 race. Never have to worry about missing or forgetting to set the recording for each weeks event.
Don’t listen to Dump
I've noticed they've already added 1080P to a bunch of channels.
TV manufacturers (Sony, LG, Samsung, etc) doing the Lords work here. 8k, 120fps, etc.
Networks (CBS, NBC, ESPN/ABC) doing the bare minimum. Like you point out, going from 720p to 1080p. Fox is probably the only provider to get a passing grade.
The only change, which I'll be honest is significant, from the first <5 years of streaming, is the movement towards 60fps for sports. Doubling the speed of the image, essentially.
Not all sports coverage includes it, but it has far better adoption than HDR or 4K, or even surround sound. Hopefully Google getting behind 4k specifically (finally) can simplify delivery barriers these networks have.
Still got it on YouTube TV. Watching a wizards game right now
So I just remembered that YouTubeTV dropped FoxSports Southeast which was how I watched the Braves. Anybody have any ideas on how to get those games?
Find a family member that hasn’t cut the cord and get their login info. Otherwise, get a VPN and subscribe to the MLB package.
My hunch is that the YTTV/Sinclair impasse will end by the beginning of May, but I can’t say I feel totally confident that is the case.
Paramount+ gave a free month even though I’m a recent CBS all access subscriber. I dropped a month or two ago. Curious to see what all has been added.
Wife and I just don't watch much TV anymore. We have 4-5 shows we watch and that's it. We use Disney+ more than anything bc of the kid. I've had DirecTV for close to 20 years but doing a trial on YTT now. Flipping back and forth between the two on 60 minutes and the DirecTV feed is noticeably brighter. YTT isn't bad but there's definitely a difference. Is that common or do I need to mess with the settings on my TV? I may have different setting for the DirecTV input, just thought about that.
Nevermind, found the difference. Input for DirecTV was set to vivid picture and YTT was on standard.
anyone else's YouTubeTV been a cunt all day? Like buffering and glitching?
Buffering/glitching would typically point more towards a potential internet connection issue of some sort
Everything else working fine though
Negatives to YTT? Seems solid so far and works for what we need. MLB.tv is integrated, it seems. How does NFL work? I'll miss DirecTV Red Zone bc I like that guy but whatever.
Mine had that trouble yesterday
Just fix itself? You report it to them?
Real bullshit it’s fucking me on Manchester Derby and NBA All Star day
Sometimes it's hard to tell. For example I work at home now because of the pandemic and a couple of weeks ago my work computer would consistently disconnect from our company's VPN. Everything else (phone, TV, speakers, etc.) connected to my internet worked completely fine. What was happening was my connection was dropping packets. It just so happens that, that only affected that one connection and it wasn't an issue for the others. Not saying that's your issue just providing an example.
There's a sports package that includes RedZone that you can subscribe to. I only subscribe to it during the months the NFL is in season.
It has RZ. The only downside really is no channel flipping or return (that I’ve found). Other than that I don’t miss cable and satellite at all.
Pretty sure DirecTV has their own Red Zone and the YTT version is the NFL.com one. Just a different host.
Again, very minor thing. Still get the games.
Yeah, although it could have been a firestick issue
I found a reset button on my Roku Streambar and knock on wood we are golden pony boy
Yes. Yttv has the nfl version
