I am sure this is old news since it is from February, but I have free Peacock thru myxfinity internet. but that is evidently changing on June 26.

This article notes Peacock trying to squeeze customers due to "3 billion dollars" in losses.

are any of these streamers profitable?

There are some good deals out there if you want to keep it. Saw $20 for a year recently.

 

I have it bc I used to have xfinity internet and they last have not yet fixed the error. When that goes away it’s going to suck.

Welp my discount run is over. After splitting YTTV with friends for the last 6 or so years I'm going on my own plan. Not thrilled about spending the dough but I am thrilled to never worry about those jamokes sharing logins, doing multiple streams, causing us all to get kicked out during big sporting events.

 

Seems like a good time to ask about sharing YTTV logins for Sunday Ticket. Is that going to be an option or are they cracking down to logins at just one location?

 

NFL Sunday Ticket can be watched on unlimited (simultaneous) streams at home and 2 additional streams out of the home for household members on the go.

New Max app is absolutely shit. Seems there are complaints across the internet about it. Never remembers what I'm watching

 

Iv'e noticed several times now it will say I have watched an episode I most certainly have not watched. Other times it will say I haven't watched something I definitely know I watched. I'm not sure it's ever accurate.

 

I’ve had things dropping off my “continue watching” randomly after finishing a ep that wasn’t even the last of a season. Seems better the past couple of days though.

 

If you have Xfinity internet peacock premium will now be included for free.

 

Huh? I thought that was what was going away?

 

Idk at one point they said the free peacock to the cable customers was going away. I assumed it also included those who only use the internet service. They just sent the email out so I think it’s a change of policy

 

That’s great for xfinity customers! But yeah, just confusing given what they’ve said previously. I wonder if my loophole will still work…

 

So Max is NOT the one to watch for HBO.

CNN basically destroyed their market share with the new/ex-CEO shifting the focus of the channel so I'm sure they're willing to try anything at this point.

I feel like we’re heading to a world where Youtube TV is nothing more than an aggregator of live TV for all of the subscriptions you own. And to watch live sports you’ll have to go to Peacock, ESPN+, etc

 

Some CNN programs are already on Discovery+, so it's just the logical next step.

 

I agree on the second part, but YTTV doesn't even do the first (aggregation) part well. Google lets you tell it which subs you have, but that doesn't produce any benefits inside of YTTV. It really could be insanly convenient but I think legacy thinking and contract rights prevent that.

 

We've entered the Netflix Correction Era but it is still the wild west in terms of streaming strategy and execution.

 

Doesn’t necessarily need to be YTTV, whoever can make the best app. But agree contract rights could be blocking it as well.

 

It’s not hbo though. It’s WB/Discovery. I agree it’s dumb and the rebranding is stupid so no argument there. But this isn’t CNN coming to HBOs streaming platform. HBO doesn’t have its own platform (which again I think we all recognize as stupid)

Golf is basically a year round sport. It makes the most sense.

But it doesn't matter because you should be able to customize it
