I like the first paragraph "worked hard to offer you the content you love". No one wants 95% of the content they've worked hard to increase the price to add. 100+ channels?
It’s funny these subscription services (all of them not just streaming) still send these stupid emails with the same template. “We’re investing in you blah blah blah”. email could just have easily said “we’re raising the price. What are you going to do about it motherfucker? We changed the system and we own you. Good luck telling your kids you’re cancelling” and it would have at least been refreshing.
Look at the cfb rights deals ($$$$) from your favorite P4 conference and then you'll know why ESPN/Fox/NBC win on negotiations.
Decided to cancel YouTube TV. Live sports was going to be literally the only thing keeping me on it in 2025, and I don’t watch sports anywhere near as much as I did back when I first signed up when it was only $50. Literally every original show I watch is available either live or next day on some streaming app. What’s a good antenna to get? That way I can at least watch the sports that’s on broadcast networks.
If you wanna get serious about it, you need to locate where your local TV towers are located at. Like, how far away and in what direction. You can enter your address here https://www.rabbitears.info/searchmap.php and it will tell you how far away they are and in what direction. You might could get by with some simple rabbit ears from Walmart like this https://www.walmart.com/ip/ONN-Mode...7?classType=REGULAR&athbdg=L1100&from=/search I tried the rabbit ears and they worked pretty good but I wasn't getting all of the stations. So I bought this antenna https://store.antennasdirect.com/clearstream-2max-hdtv-antenna.html and put it up in my attic. I now get more stations.
Here's mine for example. https://www.rabbitears.info/s/1847620 Notice all of my shit's mainly all lined up in 1 direction. So I have my antenna pointed straight down that line. Those rabbit ears are only good for 30 miles.
I made this handy YoutubeTV future pricing guide based on their historical price growth rate for your budgeting purposes.
one guy is the account owner and has the standard account, which has up to 3 simultaneous streams. he shares with his neighbor and me. there are occasions I've had a "too many streams" warning (beyond 3), but that has been extremely rare. had the setup for a few years now and it works. we've had the Sunday ticket each year yttv has offered it. nice add.
I share a password with my mom and had to buy the premium because I like to watch on 2 TVs a lot and she always leaves a TV on by accident and it’s just not worth dealing with the headache to get her to turn one of them off.
If you complain to a representative about cost and threatened to cancel, you will get a $10 off promotional code for six months
AFAIK, nothing in the last 24 months or so has been good on the ATSC 3.0 front. Only DRM and lobbying towards that end. Lon Seidman on YT keeps up with that stuff and how to fight back.
The YT Zen stuff with the winter night house scene on a lake in the woods place is... Jasna Chalet Resort in Slovenia Was bugging me
My wife is starting to get slightly annoyed with those zen commercials and now I’ve gotta hear about it lol.
Looks like venu may be coming soon and we may have another sports option as well https://awfulannouncing.com/hulu/ve...tv.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=bluesky
streaming WJC last night sucked b/w TSN content and NHL rights, you'd think ESPN would get some of that on Plus.
Depending on the price and if they let you choose your 4 quadbox channels, I’d be interested in looking into the new Hulu
asked for YTTV discount via chat, got the same one I think everyone is getting who is asking. Starting on Jan 12, 2025 you'll be charged a promotional price of $72.99 per month for 6 months. Starting on Jul 12, 2025, you'll be charged $82.99 per month on a recurring basis. Additional taxes may apply.
I've been using Fubo for a while ever since YouTube dropped MLB Network. I'm ta been fine but I don't use quadbox. Only drawback is they haven't had TBS/TNT so miss out on that during NCAA tournament and some MLB playoff games. Hoping the combo clears that up.
6 months for me Congratulations. A promotional offer has been applied to your account. We value your membership and are excited to continue to provide you with high quality entertainment with 85+ channels, unlimited DVR, and more.
They tried to offer me half off the next month. I said no I want $10 off the next six and they came back with a promo code for me
I’m confused, is that the same as the 72.99 offer everyone else is getting or is that $10 off the new price?
If you have to ask, you can’t afford it But really, they definitely have made it more difficult over time to get to the chat. I go through tv.youtube.com and then hit the “?” Next to my user profile pic. There’s a contact us option, but you have to go a couple levels down. But if you keep going, you’ll get there. Just hit “continue” when it’s available and you’ll get to the chat option
