tried website, app on my Amazon fire, app on my iPad and on Amazon nothing. the only logical explantation is i am getting it for free
Clown Baby you can get the current generation Apple TV for like $60-70 and I think the next generation is going to be $150-$200.
1. Get a Smart Antenna to pick up the networks, even in HD. (One time purchase of like $50) 2. Have internet 3. Get a media player for streaming. 4. If you have to have ESPN, get Sling. ($20 a month) 5. Be good at torrancing. Boom, cable cut.
1. http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...434644574&sr=8-1&keywords=amazon+hdtv+antenna This is literally a television antenna, like bunny ears, where you can get NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, PBS, and a couple other channels, but you can get them in HD. 2. You already have internet 3. http://www.amazon.com/Roku-Streamin...v&ie=UTF8&qid=1434644642&sr=1-2&keywords=roku For streaming these stations: https://www.roku.com/whats-on Apple TV would be the same thing, but I'm not sure if Sling works on Apple TV. I know it works on Roku. 4. https://www.sling.com/ For streaming ESPN and a few other networks, including the Food Network so you can watch your beloved Guy Fieri. 5. Didn't UA412 set you up on torrancing?
Looks like sling isnt compatible with Apple TV but I like the idea. UA and Barves tried to educate me on Torrance but I'm not a smart man but I love Guy Fieri
You could actually get an Apple TV since you have all Apple products and still get a Roku for only $50 through a Sling promotion when you sign up for 3 months of Sling TV. So if you got everything up front it would be: $50 for antenna $70 for Apple TV $60 for 3 months of Sling, plus $20 each month after that $45 for Roku after you get the Sling 50% off deal That would be your costs for like 2 months of cable, and then after that you would only have $20 for sling each month plus whatever streaming services you pay for (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.).
Anything like this. HD smart antenna http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...434644574&sr=8-1&keywords=amazon hdtv antenna
I could get by on this so much easier if I weren't married. Fucking HGTV is constantly fucking my attempts at this.
Now, to teach my mother-in-law how to use it(she watches my son at my house every day). I TMB so much.
since all broadcast signals are digital now, any antennna will be fine if you're close enough to the tower. hell, just a coax cable with some aluminum foil wrapped around the other end will work.
Usually that's advice for someone who lives in a metropolitan area like Atlanta where you're no more than 5-10 miles from the broadcast tower.
Does the picture look as good as cable? Not quite, but it's still very good. In our testing Sling TV came close to Verizon Fios' HD channel quality at its best, but did look slightly softer. It did briefly drop in quality when moving to a new channel, and there were other occasional picture quality drops, but on our high-speed connection it was mostly delivered at the highest quality with excellent stability. Picture quality on smaller screen devices was also very good. http://www.cnet.com/news/sling-tv-everything-you-need-to-know/
There was a thread on this before the crash, but anyone have any thoughts as to the best internet provider. I remember reading, I think, that despite its hilariously bad customer service, Charter had pretty decent internet service. Do I need to get faster speeds if I'm doing all streaming?
A few shows on network TV. Baseball games from time to time. And NFL Redzone and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Also Netflix and HBOGo
I had debated it for a while but then my cable went out for two weeks and I didn't even notice so that was my sign.
Bought the $17 HD antenna from Amazon & get 19 local channels... Along with Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime & Netflix on the Roku/Chromecast. Will swap between Showtime/HBO Now depending on what shows are running as well
So I'm thinking digital antenna, Roku, Netflix, and Amazon prime should have me good to go, assuming I can get my parents login for HBO go, watch ESPN, and whatever else I need. Come football season, I may get sling TV to ensure maximum football enjoyment. In my area, charter offers internet for $40/ month.
Here's something I hate about Sling TV/Watch ESPN for sports on FireTV (and probably other devices)--maybe you guys can provide a solution: Gameplay isn't smooth like it is on cable. It's choppy, especially when watching basketball. Is this a setting that can be changed through the device? I've been on Sling for the last 3 months, and I still can't get used to it. I don't think it's a connection issue.
brighthouse here in orlando is up to 300mb/s it's no google fiber but i can't imagine ever needing more than the 90mb/s plan I'm on since i don't run 500 computers from my house
i am willing to give people my parent's watch espn login but only if i like and know you so asking may carry a risk of hurt feelings
Just bought one of those jail broken Amazon fire sticks off eBay. Don't plan on getting cable at this point, will probably look into getting an antenna though for local channels
Loving my experience without cable so far. I'm using free Google Fiber, have an alienware alpha (desktop/console hybrid) linked up with my TV, and just setup my HD antenna and surprisingly get about 50 diff channels. I use primewire to stream any movie/show I want for free, and control everything via wireless keyboard/mouse on my couch. The only things I need to get figured out are out of market NFL games and english premier league games.
