Meh...previous to that I watched House of Cards which is the ultimate series in going from fantastic seasons to disappointing so any letdown as Californication went on was nbd.
Think I am going to cancel my Directv and move to PS Vue. How do you guys like PS Vue for those that have it? Seems like I can get all the channels I need and some.
It has been available nationwide for months now. https://www.theverge.com/2019/3/28/...e-all-markets-internet-cable-google-streaming
I like it a lot - the only other streaming service I’ve used was DirecTV Now. Wouldn’t hurt to start the free trials of Vue and YouTube TV & see which one you like better.
Probably will try both, PS Vue has me leaning more towards that b/c of the multiple devices at once option and it also has all the channels I watch. For a tv that isn't Roku or Fire, which streaming device is the "go-to?"
Unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean...I think pretty much all live streaming tv services allow this. I know YTTV does for up to 6 devices though I've even heard that people have gotten more than that.
Streaming service or device? I have Apple TV 4Ks, but I got those as part of a DirecTV Now promo last year. I’d probably go Roku if you don’t want to shell out the cash for an Apple TV - Google & Amazon get pissy with each other periodically, so Fire TV may/may not have YouTube TV at times depending on how that’s going.
I am referring to simultaneous streams at once, YTTV is 3 streams simultaneous, but 6 user accounts. PS Vue is 5 streams simultaneous, and 10 user accounts.
I think it was posted in here, but Showtime (maybe 8 or so channels total) is gifted to all YTTV subscribers for the summer. Of note, the gift does not come with auto-renew. Probably to curry favor since the new price increase went into effect.
Also, if you have a family YTTV account, check your email this week - they are emailing an offer out for the Google Home Hub for $49.99 instead of the normal ~$79 down from $149.99 originally.
stupid question and no i didnt search the thread, but if i get youtube TV whats the cheapest way to access the nfl redzone
Last year also had YTTV so cheapest way I found outside of knowing somebody with directv sunday ticket login who doesn't use the app is to pay $80-$100 for a year of NFL sunday ticket app with a student promo. You need to know somebody with a .edu email address or attending a school on a list they have (local state college was on list) but the best i could find last year.
I'd be surprised if they didnt negotiate a deal with NFLN/RedZone by football season this year. Last year YTTV wasn't even available in all markets yet and were maybe a year old at most. This year its a different story and even more competitive so I have to believe they'll have an option for it. To answer your question though, if they don't get it by then....the cheapest way would just be to sign up for a different services free trial each week. You could surely do that for at least half the season if not more. My sister/bro in law have Sling so I just used their login last year since the sports package they had thru that got RedZone.
YTTV made some pretty big design changes with the live tv screen. Nothing game changing I don't think. Biggest change I like is the fast forward/rewind screen preview is about twice as big now.
PS Vue increasing another $5/month. I think that’s three $5 increases in the last year and a half now
It might be getting economically feasible for more cable companies to offer streaming cable than digital cable.
I'm looking to save some money and finally getting away from cable. Is there a link to walk me through my options and things required to get this moving? I checked the OP and it doesn't have any info. Sorry to be that guy who comes late to the game asking for help.
Find your channels here. https://www.suppose.tv/tv When you determine that you’ll need something that can act as an interface for your app. Apple TV, PS, fire tv, roku, etc....... Then just consider where you want your TV and network connection in your home to support it. Good luck.
What’s up players? I’m putting a tv outside for football season and was wondering if there was anything I could do to watch the games I want that wouldn’t require me running cable or anything but my power chord from the tv. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Cool. That’s exactly what I was looking for. I literally have no idea where to start on things like that. I appreciate it!
No idea what you're looking to spend or what size you're looking for but value wise this would be a great TV to get that you could plug in and watch. Great interface since Roku is built in.
I picked up that 65 inch from Target for $499 on the 4th. They are already priced great, but you can really find deals if you have time.
ButchCassidy Where we at? Any news or did you find anything else? It's going to be August soon and I am getting nervous.
I've just been using Reddit. Guess it really is time to start the search, cause I'd rather not use reddit for college football games.
I really don’t want to use reddit for anything other than an emergency. I’ll let you know if I find anything.
I didn't pick up one because I already have enough smart home tech. If someone wants my promo code, I'm happy the send it. Don't know how long its valid for though.
not really. The higher end players & sticks have beefier internals - usually means better video processing (image quality), less buffering/'loading', and are future proofed. They are also more likely to have extra features like Ethernet input etc. If it was me - I would pay the money to cover the difference, because I would say 90% chance the next tv you buy will be 4k and you'll want the 4k output of an AppleTV (also HDR) or Roku (not sure if they support HDR) An AppleTV is $100+ so i wouldn't pay that much and not have 4k, but I bet Amazon, Chromecast & Roku have cheap devices under ~$35 if you are looking to pay as little as possible.
If you plan on getting a 4K tv sometime in the future then you would be able to use the 4K Roku stick without having to buy another one.
AT&T has also raised DirecTV Now streaming prices twice since completing the merger, despite telling a judge in a court filing that the merger would "enabl[e] AT&T and Time Warner to reduce consumer prices." The latest DirecTV Now price cut was paired with the elimination of dozens of channels that aren't part of Time Warner.
