If by “hit up” you mean standing at the entrance w a clip board trying to make eye contact as I ignore them, then yeah the hit me up too lol
I just say I already have that. New kitchen, windows, tv, you name it I have it and love it. Conversation starter and ender in one.
FOX has pulled more channels off DISH. They removed their Regional Sports channels some time back. Now they have removed FS1, FS2, B1G Network, FOX Soccer Plus, FOX Deportes and FOX owned locals. They haven't pulled FOX News or FOX Business News yet. These last 2 I would easily trade for their sports channels.
welcome aboard, no matter which streaming plan you go with, it will be better than what big cable is pushing.
That’s not entirely true. They own so much shit and there are multiple angles for a company that large to make a profit. Literally they could have just bought the customer base.
That's because Fox News and Fox Sports aren't under the same company anymore. Fox is also demanding a double digit price increase from Dish.
Yeah I'm sure they will make some money but they will lose, already are losing, a lot of Direct/Uverse customers because of rising prices. This is not the thing you want to do when people are already shifting away from the traditional tv providers.
They announced last week they are parting. I think I posted ITT, but announcing that makes zero sense to me. I guess they are so big they have zero leverage to begin with?
https://www.axios.com/att-directv-nfl-sunday-ticket-deal-70350acd-8daa-43fa-a8c0-58f4675e12c7.html AT&T COO John Stankey said that the telecom giant would consider dropping its exclusive rights to the NFL's Sunday Ticket package from its DirecTV satellite service in a Wall Street Journal interview. Why it matters: The package features most Sunday NFL games — some of the most popular programming on television — and the deal has long been a cornerstone for DirecTV. "There’s less profitability to support the decision" to offer Sunday Ticket, Stankey said in the interview. "It becomes less critical to the business over time." According to the Journal, AT&T is paying $1.5 billion annually for the Sunday Ticket rights. Its exclusive package expires in 2022. Stankey's statement doesn't come as a total surprise. In an interview with Recode in February, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson alluded to the fact that the NFL was less invested in the fan experience than other sports. The state of play: AT&T is under pressure from investors to divest DirecTV, which it acquired for $65 billion in 2015, because the business is struggling as more people ditch traditional television packages for digital alternatives. Rumors have circulated over the past two weeks that AT&T is considering dropping the service, which the telecom giant has denied. The big picture: Sports rights are coveted entities in the the television business, as they make up one of the only types of content that viewers still consume live. Leagues have developed a great deal of leverage over TV networks to charge for the rights to distribute their live content. Our thought bubble: If AT&T is considering dropping its live TV business, then it makes sense that they wouldn't want to pay big bucks to renew the NFL contract.
Checking out the YouTube tv now. I was set on psvue due to Amazon fire issue. Now I’ve got both free trials going trying to decide. Channel wise I don’t see any differences for what I watch.
Let us know how it goes for you. I've got a buddy that has PSVue. I, personally, find the guide, layout, general ease of use to be much more nonsensical than YTTV but you may have a different reaction. One thing that I know for sure is better with YTTV is the DVR functionality. With PSVue, you can only really "record" local and/or one-off type programming. It won't let you record shows or episodes that are available On Demand so not only are you always stuck watching commercials with On Demand programming, you also can't view any of those types of programs until their actually available On Demand. Sometimes that's right after the show has aired, sometimes it's not until the next day. With YTTV you can record anything you want and sometimes it will only let you view the On Demand version after the fact but most of the time you can view the actual DVR recording so full fast-forward/rewind is available. Also, it's a small thing but if you're like me and like to start watching a DVR'd show 10-20 mins after it started airing, that's always possible with YTTV no matter what. With PSVue it isn't a lot of the time. Lastly, DVR storage for PSVue is 28 days after air date. With YTTV, it's 9 months.
I knew about the days to watch but not the other items regarding dvr. Guide isn’t too much of an issue but it is kind of annoying the ps vue guide is different for different devices.
You probably did. I jumped to the later pages. I wouldn't be surprised to see AT&T start or focus on a streaming service. Probably buyout Netflix or something.
They already announced they are starting their own streaming service before they said they were distancing themselves from DTV. It makes zero sense to me all around.
Going YouTube tv. Both services fit what I need but guide is more customizable, dvr is more user friendly, and the picture quality seems better than the old satellite source. $5 cheaper a month than vue which isn’t a huge deal. The only channel I’m missing is science channel but oh well.
I am so fucking close to pulling the trigger on YTTV. The only thing that is holding this up is the fucking Hallmark channel. Wife lives on that channel in about 2 weeks through Christmas.
Ok, I cut the cord in February and it’s been perfect until the last two weeks. I have U-verse internet and pay extra to speed it up. I have Rokus on all TVs, and I use Hulu plus for live tv. I only have trouble when watching live football games. Example, tonight I was trying to watch the rams-Seahawks game. I was able to watch the first quarter but it buffered every five minutes. Ok, that sucks, but I can live with it. Half way through the second quarter it just gives me an error message. Won’t let me watch the game. All other live channels work. Anyone know the issue? Is this a Hulu problem?
I’d have to say Hulu. Only issue I every had streaming any game, going on 3 years now, was on the ESPN app. I’d call them.
Thanks. I'm still fucked I think as it doesn't appear they have her favorite movie series on there. Murder she baked or some shit like that.
Looks like they have what’s on the channel live as well. So as long as she can see it when they air it that would be the same no?
A little bit off topic but here's AT&T's debt problem. https://arstechnica.com/information...bt-to-sell-puerto-rico-network-for-2-billion/
I went psvue over yttv because I already had the ps4 and thought it made sense. I’m thinking I might switch anyway. The guide is so clunky.
I have the second highest speed with Cox but they slow it down if I go over a certain amount of data, which is a little over 1TB, for the month. After rereading your post that’s probably not the case if other channels are still working.
Congrats on being lucky. Unless they've ramped things up a lot, hulu live was the absolute worst platform I have tried. Couldn't handle a demanding event, shitty interface, sluggish. Philo was pretty bad too, but at least it was half the price.
