I prefer fubo over Sling and youtube. Picture quality is noticeably better than Sling and the global sports coverage is really good, particularly soccer. They're losing Turner but gaining: “We’re excited to add ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ABC, Disney Channel, Disney Jr, Disney XD, Freeform, FX, FXX, Nat Geo and, depending on your area and package, potentially more Disney networks to your fuboTV subscription this August." If you want sports coverage, I don't know a better streaming bang for your buck.
Just bought the Disney bundle. Any idea how I can stop the ads on Hulu? I’ll pay to make them go away just can’t find it any place.
would probably have to upgrade the Hulu plan but you should be able to get a discount on the other stuff.
Yeah I had Hulu previously with no ads. I just can’t see where the option is to upgrade to no ads. Strange.
just DL'ed haven't thumbed through it yet, but English soccer is showing their exclusively at noon, so I'll be in there then.
We had Hulu live for a while and got the no ads, but then got rid of it. It only applies to stuff in the Hulu library. So something like it's always Sunny or something that regular Hulu would have when watching on demand. Dvr (which is a joke on Hulu live) or a show that isn't part of the normal Hulu library doesn't stream ad free when you pay for it no matter what. It's a waste of money
Anyone have YTTV in Florida and notice Fox sports Florida is now missing? I had it, but noticed it's no longer showing up. Already Checked to make sure I didn't accidentally remove it. I have one friend who still has it on his but another that also no longer sees it. Going to drop if it's not fixed and nhl ends up starting back up
And the confusion only grows... Yellowstone isn't an NBC Universal property, they licensed it from ViacomCBS who has its own rival platform (CBS All Access). Surely Yellowstone will leave Peacock in due time, but that didn't stop them from marketing that show as if its a bellcow for Peacock. I loaded up a movie on Peacock just now, to have background while I work. Randomly picked Jurassic Park (an NBC Universal property), low and behold, it says it's disappearing from the platform in 16 days.... Then, when I clicked play, an ad appeared (I paid for ad-free tier) and it proceeds to run 1 video ad, a Peacock spot, showing a variety of its shows/properties, and they feature Ray Donovan, another ViacomCBS property, which also has its own platform (Showtime) This stuff makes customer's heads spin.
I’ve had hbo max do internal ads as well. Annoying but since it’s included in my cell plan I’ll get by.
There was an asterisk by the 9.99 version that says there will still be some ads, which is kind of bullshit. Also had to manually start the next episode of King of Queens, but that could be an app setting.
I had it over a month ago since I got a Xfinity Flex device so I could get Peacock Premium with limited ads for free. And it's a whole lot less ads than Hulu with ads has. I just watched the 1992 Olympic basketball gold medal game and it only had one short ad and it's 1:43 long game. But now that it's released for everyone I can watch it on my Apple TV. I'm ready to watch some of these 90s and early 2000s family comedies like Everybody Loves Raymond and King of Queens lol. Yellowstone as well. Looking forward to eventually watching their original Brave New World. Eventually going to be the home of The Office so going to be clutch getting it for free. Alas, it is NOT available on Roku or Fire TV devices yet. https://decider.com/2020/07/15/hbo-max-peacock-roku-amazon-dispute/ Roku used to be the go-to platform if you wanted access to basically every legitimate streaming service. Starting to become apparent Apple TV is where you need to be these days. Glad I decided to get back on the Apple TV train at Christmas.
Yep i've been wanting to see these seasons as well. I had it DVRed on Dish then got rid of it for YTTV before I could watch them so lost them.
People need to just learn to consult JustWatch or Reelgood. Want to watch something specific? Just look on there for where it is.
Lack of Roku and Fire is a problem for me. If I want to put Peacock on TV I’m going to have to wait or buy a different type of player. iPad is going to get old.
Assuming there is an Android app, you can always sideload it onto Fire TV. Rather it is practical to use on there or even works is the question though.
I imagine those platforms will get worked out fairly quickly, so I’m going to wait it out for now. Nothing I want badly enough to reconfigure a bunch of stuff at the moment.
It's going to be on Roku sooner than later. Since Roku is very much still the go-to platform it's just taking a bit longer to workout because they have a lot more power in negotiations than any of these other platforms.
YTTV couldn't reach a deal with Sinclair so some of the regional Fox Sports networks had to be dropped
Yeah, buy Fox sports Florida and SunSports were part of the deal...Google emailed me back. I can get SunSports but not Fox sports Florida. It's by zipcode. Ziocodes outside city limits get it, but I don't It's extremely stupid and if I can't figure out a workaround before (if) the NHL starts back up I'll drop and go back to hulu live

I like this Upload show on Amazon but don’t really get why it’s labeled a comedy. I’ve watched six episodes and it’s not remotely funny.
i remember when i tried sling with dvr and ran into this issue. i almost immediately canceled the service
I think one of Sling's biggest issues is the lack of consistency across its channels. Some channels you can pause, some you can't. Some you can start what's playing from the beginning, some you can't. Some you can watch on 3 streams if you have one package, but only 1 stream if you have the other. It's so dumb.
anyone switch from Youtube TV to Hulu TV? How is the interface / DVR? I see the only sports channels you lose are NBA TV and MLB TV.
Curious about this too. I’m on my Hulu trial right now. Interface is nowhere near as good, IMO. Haven’t really messed with the DVR yet. With the price increase and about half of the Braves games no longer available on YTTV, it’s about time for me to make a switch. I don’t think Hulu has Paramount either, which really screws with Yellowstone.
I don't have Hulu live tv, but I do NOT like their interface with regards to buttons and layout. Do not care about look/feel but the way stuff (like button clicks) is somewhat different.
Hulu Live offers 50 hrs of cloud DVR storage and you can't fast forward thru commercials. You want more DVR or to be able to fast forward? That's an extra $10/month. I understand some may be disappointed in the price increase but YTTV still the best service and value out there. Grass isn't always greener.
I'm genuinely curious how you use YTTV's DVR such that YTTV can cost $65/mo and you still call it the best value out there. For that price, Hulu gives you 200 hours and fast forward DVR, and access to their massive library of on-demand and original content.
Pretty simple. Btw, the cost is the same. YTTV = $65/mo. Hulu Live = $54.99/mo + $9.99/mo (DVR add on) = $64.98 From there YTTV has the best UI. Unlimited DVR which Hulu can't match even with buying their $10 add on. More channels. More simultaneous streams.
Yeah, I know Hulu with the upgraded DVR is the same price as YTTV. I said it in my post. How do you use your DVR though? Do you have more than 200 hours of stuff recorded on it right now? It also should be noted that YTTV only has unlimited DVR storage; there is a limit on how long someone can keep their recordings. While other services (Hulu, Sling) have storage limits but let you keep recordings as long as you want. I'm genuinely fascinated if you use your DVR in such a way that 200 hours kept as long as you want isn't as good as unlimited storage but only for 9 months. It's just so different than how I use mine.
When I was on Dish I easily had over 200 hours recorded when I got rid of it. And if you live in a house with multiple people recording different stuff, 200 hours would be easy to hit.
Yeah the limit is 9 months which is more than sufficient. Nice thing is with unlimited DVR I can and do record anything I have any interest in. When everyone says the YTTV UI is superior that doesn't just mean that the guide is convenient or whatever. It means how intuitive everything is. Like for example you can search and select an entire sports league and just have the DVR record all events for that league. I am a fan of the PGA Tour and Formula 1. Years ago when I got YTTV I just searched PGA Tour and selected record all events. I've never had to remember to record a PGA tourney since. The DVR automatically records every round of every tournament for me. Same with every F1 race and qualifying session. Also I tend to use the DVR like an On Demand channel or Hulu library for example. I have every episode of every season of It's Always Sunny available because during any 9 months time they all replay at one time or another on FX or FXX. Same deal with multiple other shows I watch.
