Cyberpunk 2077

I was going to start playing this sometime this week. Should I still wait? I pre-ordered it and still have it in the plastic wrapping.

 

Seems like if you're not playing on a new console or PC, it's a bad idea.

 

That’s what I’m still waiting for. I know they haven’t patched anything and it’s impossible to play on a first gen ps4

 

It's on PS5. Have they patched anything since release?

 

Been some massive patches but the game isn’t close to being fixed

Yes. It runs very good on PS5. I only had a couple of bugs that I had to restart the last save. It really is a fantastic game other than the crappy AI and the combat. The world they built is top notch. Probably my favorite open world ever.

 

At least they're consistent in some things.

 

I was under the impression that the crappy AI kind of ruined the open world.

 

I guess when I refer to the open world, it’s more of the city and surrounding areas which are full of both little touches and a grand scale that’s not been in other games. The AI is with the enemies that really don’t know how to navigate this world or present much challenge to your character. The combat is basically just pick a good sword or claw implants and destroy everyone quickly.

 

For people that are still on a base PS4 I wouldn't rush out and buy it now. I hear it still runs like ass on PS4.

 

I haven’t tried to play it since it came out but it was unplayable on my first gen ps4

I started playign it and lasted maybe an hour before being bored. I need to try playing it again.

It's on sale for $10. I've got a PS5 and don't mind holding on until the next gen upgrade. I'm just worried they're going to back out of previous commitment of free upgrade.

Man this game was such a disappointment. I wanted to 100% it. I preordered a game for the first time in forever and now that I’m like 85% done with the game there’s multiple missions I can’t complete that are glitched out now. They’ve been like that for months and I just gave up on it.

 

I thought this was going to be an all timer. What a let down. CDPR is going to need to do so much to rebuild their reputation.

 

If the Witcher is not up to par, they’re done for.

 

Tried playing it just now and it’s unplayable at all on PS4. Even worse than before. The music and dialogue all skip or just go out all together and the graphics look like PS2 quality. Donkey of a game.

 

Feel bad for the console Bros. I loved it on oc right after it came out. Will probably play again once I get more storage space.

 

The fact this game even released on consoles is a fucking joke. They clearly weren’t prepared for it. Shit didn’t work at launch and here we are months after and that shit is still bugged. I play on PC but i couldn’t imagine how pissed I’d be if I had bought this on Xbox or something.

 

It works fine on the next gen consoles. But definitely should have never been released on PS4 or Xbox One.

 

On PC with Ray Tracing it’s still most beautiful game I’ve ever seen so

 

wish my PC was good enough to do ray tracing. I’m sure Halo would look amazing as well if you’re into that game. It’s got some ridiculous scenery.

yeah the graphics are insanely good if you have a current Gen card that can handle it.

I’m really enjoying this so far, only minor issues and a few crashes in one specific area, also possible it could be from some of the mods I’m running

 

Is it worth a buy? Does it run better on X/PS5 or doesn’t matter?

 

I think digital foundry did a side by side comparison after the big patch that said it’s faster on PS5 but the PS5 version of the world is way less populated by NPCs and cars and the Xbox version had way more but still wasn’t close to PC

If you don’t have a high end PC you really just need to wait until the next big patch comes out in Q2 2022

 

Technically runs a whole lot better, so if that was what was holding you back then I'd say go for it. Personally, I'm waiting on all the fixes because I couldn't get past the lifeless world.

I started it back up recently and was enjoying it actually. But still decided to go back to waiting for the next gen version.

Of course it will finally drop right as a fuck ton of games come along I've been wanting to play. Why couldn't they have dropped this anytime in the last couple of months when I had nothing to play.
