Edit- He was “processed” not stripped of a scholarship. It’s hard to keep straight the specifics of Dabo’s whitewashing.

paul tyson! where’s paul- there’s paul. hell of run here and has made a lasting impact on this program. everybody give it up for paul. can’t say enough about him- a guy who shows up everyday ready to give his all. a coach’s dream. gonna be a hell of a QB… but not for us. come turn in your pads, paul.

 

All of these walk-ons can take comfort in the fact that the lord walks with them and now that they are losing their scholarship the lord will carry them through these difficult times.

 

They will always have the opportunity to walk on at Dabo’s Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux restaurant.

I’m sure everyone hates Dabo, but who is he talking about that doesn’t work with Clemson? Like what industry of people is he talking about? College Assistant coaches? NFL coaches? Scouts? Twitter WR gurus? Random men from the internet? I don’t follow.

I get not liking Dabo but this seems pretty ho-hum. A coach talking up all his players like they are great to scouts?!? The horror! What's the expectation, he shit on shitty players? The 5yr walk-on example used is pretty clear that kid's not playing in the NFL. God forbid the scout actually has to do their job and watch the players.

 

Scouts you need to be straight up with. So they know when to take his word on a kid. If you're just saying everyone here is great then your words dont have value or meaning.

Fair. But Dabo is always a sunshine pumper, at all times. It can be incredibly frustrating as a Clemson fan, but it's who he is and who he will always be. I assume most scouts and coaches know that by now and can see through his bullshit sunshine.

 

because they are asking for honest feedback not coach speak. So if he is saying a 5th year walk-on is a nfl starter how can you ever trust him when there is an actual kid worthy

 

I sincerely doubt a 2X National Championship winning coach and Xs and Os guy like Coach Swinney is telling NFL scouts that a fifth year walk-on that hasn’t played is an NFL player.

that's fair. if you're a NFL coach/scout and can't tell if a guy is a jag though, that's on you. if Dabo lies about stuff that a coach/scout can't tell from tape or a workout (like lying about whether a kid works hard, shows up to class, etc.), then that's shitty and he should get killed for that. if he's a sunshine pumper and the scouts give a shit about Dabo's accolades about some backup, then that's hilarious tand on them for their own gullibility,.

 

NFL scouts don’t talk to Dabo much outside of pleasantries and “hey how is player X doing?”

very little of what a college HC is taken into account except when Belichick fell in love with Urban and Greg Schiano and drafted dudes like Jermaine Cunningham.


Scouts talk to position coaches, pro liaisons at big schools, coaches who coached against the player, and anyone that coached the kid previously.


Kirby isn’t sitting there with a scout from the chargers and going over the strengths and weaknesses of every pro eligible player
