The media is trying really hard to give dabo a free pass on racism and he’s stumbling his way into making sure this becomes a national story.
Ill never understand making excuses because a guy coaches or plays for your favorite team. But it happens almost every single time
If there’s one thing I know about the majority of Clemson’s fan base*, it’s that they would be more upset if he came out in support of the BLM movement. I went there for a year, and the amount of overt racism (on- and off-campus) was astounding. *Not on this site, but the general populace
All of that is true, but in all honesty, is Dabo speaking publicly right now good for anyone associated with Clemson? They seem very comfortable with who he is and what he stands for, so at that point it's about hiding him more than letting the world in on his thoughts on the world.
Yeah, him being insensitive doesn’t outweigh the $ he brings in and success he has had with a fan base that only cares about results.
Last post in the thread. The college football fans faking concern over this just to throw shade are pretty disgusting. Look in the mirror if this is you (tOSU fans) and do better.
I think he's probably the most powerful coach within a university in the country. He has zero to worry about.
Failing to address a coach saying the n word to a player is far worse than this stupid t shirt (as far as I know, coach is still on the team...). And the idea that Dabo is just aloof and isnt political and doesnt understand this stuff is wrong. He's addressed stuff like this multiple times, but only when it's on his terms (paying players, Kaep kneeling). Fact that the $100m man cant stand up and say something meaningful is pretty sad.
Not really, take a poll on tiger net asking if they are upset he wore a football matters shirt? Rest of country can be upset at it, but Death Valley will be packed and people will still be giving to IPTAY at a crazy high level.
No doubt. But I’m not really buying that wouldn’t also be the case for a large portion of any other fan base.
Yikes. Dabo should step down immediately and devote a couple years of his life to introspection at the Nick Saban Institute for Coaching Rehabilation.
Yes there are many things we care about as SC fans outside of results because we have integrity and also no results
