this is the annoying part to me right now, forecast keeps making me balk and then it’s like a super light mist drizzle or nothing at all
It is awesome. RadarScope. I have literally been around people before and said “it is going to start raining in 15 seconds.” And yes, it starts raining. More data than I know what to do with frankly but as far as knowing exactly where the rain is, it is great. I am sure if you know the other data imaging it is even better.
Have to find an outdoor covered patio for dinner tonight and the lady has requested mexican/tex mex. Anyone been to annamia's or know of another place in west plano?
One of our favorite local spots, although I do not know if it is far enough west for you. Coit & GBT. Patio fills up fast on nice days so maybe try a reservation if the weather clears out!
Tomorrow is nothing more than the day after tomorrow’s yesterDAY so I think we are still gonna be fucked on a technicality.
Chuys over off the DNT has a decent patio but there will probably be a wait depending on what time you go. I think Christina’s has a decent patio and it’s great, it’s a bit north though closer to 121 ffr Preston.
thanks. the developer is testing the limits of my casual interest in weather. $30 for windows app and $10 for android. Not an easy decision.
If I did not work outside all day and need to know when to wrap things up (exposed expensive electrical equipment) then I probably would not do it. But since I do, it is a great tool for me.
Any good coffee shop rec’s for like Addison area? Just one with decent inside seating not named Starbucks. Could also be just south of 635 too. edit #2: anyone been to Native on Alpha?
I haven't been over there since covid, but the best ones I can think of are Native coffee and ascension, both on Midway
Well last night was a nice little storm. I think they measured around 4-5.5 inches of rain in Plano. The Pulse App I have showed a couple water rescues police and Plano FD responded to. I laid some grass seed and covered it with some grass clippings in a bare area on the side of my yard and I fully expect all have been washed away.
The spillway of White Rock into the creek was the highest I have ever seen it this morning. The lowest rung of step right off of Garland the road was not even present. Just a flat transition into the creek.
I am in East Dallas -- moved here about a year ago and have been giving it a bit of time to see how we should prioritize our list of improvements. New deck/re-grading the backyard was on the list, but the the last 30 days have bumped it right up to the top and driven me to my whiskey. That and the absolute wall of mosquitoes I walk out to each morning. I keep telling myself it beats August.
Sooo much rain! Came back from full day at lax in Lewisville with the hot tub ready to go and only got half a beer before the 1st lightning flash. Yard is a swamp and too wet to mow today.
Let me know if you find someone you like or hate. Our new backyard had a ton of standing water. There is a sump pump somewhere, but it's obviously not up to the job and I assume a regrade is in my future.
Almost bought those yesterday. If they do work, here's a DIY version that could save some change (ignore the negative nancy OP) https://buglord.com/spartan-mosquito-eradicator-review/
For those dealing with mosquitos, try spraying down some Bifen I/T on the area you get standing water. I spray the walls and fence around areas where they grow and it’s helped cut them down in my opinion. I spray every 30 days or so. Bifen is cheap and you can get it on Amazon.
It is a magical place. I moved in after the start of Covid so it still feels pretty fresh -- trying to check stuff out as it opens up. Positives so far: White Rock Arboretum Goodfriend package/Cultivar (visit way too often) Humble pies -- If I want to drop $50 on some pie. Am I missing anything? I can take it to the East Dallas thread.
Craft Beer Cellar, Taco Joint, Meso Maya, Cane Rosso, Chips, Matts Rancho Martinez, GAPC, Hello Dumpling White Rock Alehouse has some solid offering. Vector Brewing as well, with extremely serviceable food. The Dairyette, an absolute must. Unfortunately, covid killed 2 of my 3 favorite East Dallas haunts... RIP 20 Feet Seafood & Local Traveler.
I literally just left there, like I do every morning before work. That cold brew straight to my veins. I have now reserved eating for only Saturday morning.
