Todays my first day at my new job (office is near DFW) and my boss called me this morning and it seemed like he was going to tell me just stay home but I had already boarded my flight
As of last night, this winter precip and even below freezing weather was supposed to stay northwest of metro. Weather people blew the forecast. So yeah, there was no need to think of you util it changed.
Our corp. headquarters is right near DFW and they closed till Wednesday. Stay safe out there. Apparently they follow whatever Dallas Public schools do.
Roads weren’t too bad this afternoon. And I got a good look as I got to the TSA line at the airport before I realized that I had left my passport at home. Made it home and back to the airport in time. I usually use Uber to the airport but I didn’t want to have to worry about availability with the weather. Turned out to be a good decision
Winter storm warning extended until 6am Thursday (was until noon Wednesday). Man the weather people had this one totally dialed in. Lmao.
Just took a nice 30 minute stroll, ofc at the very end it started raining so I expect all hell to break loose here soon.
It's going to be just long enough to keep schools and daycares closed another day. Big education is deeply embedded into our weather apparatus
Have my uncle’s funeral in OKC area Friday 10am. Looks like we will be headed that way Thursday afternoon because ain’t no way I will be trying the drive Friday morning. Denton to Red River gonna be a shitshow.
If you ever wonder why the forecast calls for shitty weather and it turns out to be a nice day, look for your local meteorologists enjoying the golf course alone
Supposed to do a day trip to Dallas tomorrow for work. Flying from Atlanta. Should I cancel this meeting?
It's supposed to be mid 40s on Thursday, right? Or do you think it's just going to stay colder all week?
Seeing all the morning flights getting in on time today. Only have to go to downtown to get lunch with client then right back to DFW. More worried about the roads when I land vs getting in and out from airports
That's what I'm talking about...you will not under any circumstances want to drive from dfw to downtown
Guess I just don’t understand how or why the city is allowed to do fuck all to prep for these storms. Uptown is dumb right now. Not a single sidewalk was salted/treated and the roads are iced over and I guess we just go “herp derp it’ll be fine come Friday”? Today wasn’t even that bad weather wise down here. Feels like with minimal effort things could be pretty decent.
