Imo, the season we got of Watchmen is my personal favorite season of television of ever thus it’s the GOAT season. So far, Dark has kept me more engaged and entertained more consistently than any other TV show I’ve ever watched. If they stick the landing (which I think will be difficult. They could end it well and it can be satisfying and still not land it in a way that does everything they’ve done so far a proper service because of how well crafted and insane the show is.) then it will be my GOAT television show.
i agree with this completely, also loved watchmen and it was incredible but dark is kind of on it’s own. The show is so good at always keeping you on your toes, it’s a trailblazer for me. That genre was tried a lot of times but never that successfully.
One these days I'll commit to watching Watchmen. I've started it a few times, but get sidetracked after a couple episodes.
Rewatch is great. Knowing how all the stories intertwine and connect it’s like a new show. But Really wish I could MiB myself and rewatch from the start with no knowledge, so good.
Doing a rewatch where I basically watch one episode a night that'll have me finishing the Wednesday of premiere week. Got to the reveal of Mikkel/Michael last night. So well done. It's pretty obvious it's going there once you know, but I still remember watching it for the first time having my mind blown. Truly the first moment the show has where you realize things are about to go off the rails in a good way.
I'm doing a full rewatch myself, I don't have as much restraint as you though to only do an episode a night. GD this show is awesome.
I'll be starting my rewatch over the weekend, the wife's first watch. Can't wait to watch her brain break.
Watching with my wife would be miserable. She can't focus on shows at all and would be asking me millions of questions.
i stopped even having my own ideas about the show. except that hannah's vagina is what causes the cycle to begin
One episode left in my season 1 rewatch. As much as I am liking this season I cannot wait for the weirdness that is season 2.
I'm 2 into season 2. Very happy I did a full rewatch, I forgot a lot more than I had anticipated. I think even with a good recap type of show I would have felt lost (I probably still will).
I totally understand this reference because I read and am an understander of references, but you should probably explain what this means for the rest of the thread followers who aren't well read like us.
Spoiler The ending to the very last book in the series is the same as the very beginning line of the first book of the series. Basically the main character is stuck in an endless loop.
Oh snap. Season 2 Ep1, Hannah asks Jonas why he’s there and 40 something Jonas turns and stares at the floor where Martha died and tells her “to end it.”
Just finished season 1 rewatch with the wife (her first watch). Not sure if it was because it was the second watch but it was remarkably better not watching alone and bouncing stuff off someone else in the moment.
Just watched this episode last night as well and it was cool to see them set it up so early. I've watched a bunch of s2 episodes multiple times, especially episodes 6 and 8, but had not rewatched the premiere before.
Guys. The entire title sequence is mirrored just like the twin dimensions. It’s been there from the start. Fuck me.
It means that what people have worshipped for millennia, the God who holds everything together, that God is nothing more than time itself. Not a thinking, acting entity. A physical law with which one can negotiate as little as one can with one's own fate. God is time.
