Just binged all but the least episode of S1 on our vacation flight. Finished last night, onto S2 tonight. Really enjoy it. Great concept.
I really like the show, but by the end of season two I'm so lost on the plot. There are way too many story lines that cross each other to try and follow where they started. I get the main genesis of Dark, however the level of complexity on individual origin stories is like a Rubiks cube on steroids. Is it just me?
No, I get what you’re saying and the convolution is basically being doubled down, but I’m going to hope that they wrap this up with some sound answers. They’ve done such a great job so far, that I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt on being able to close this up.
I feel like they do a good job of sorting each season’s shit show out for the audience in the last two episodes of each season. Then set it on fire in the final scene of each. Season 2 just had a lot more shit to sort out and 2 fewer episodes to do it. So it was a lot to process. Almost necessary to rewatch if you want to catch it all.
Trying to figure out the Charlotte, Elizabeth, Noah deal was about to make my head explode. It’s a lot to follow but what a fucking show. They stick this 3rd season and it’s a top 3-5 show ever for me.
Do you guys watch in German with subtitles or just deal with the mouths being off and have the English dubbed over?
Not reading the thread till I’ve finished so i don’t know if we’re using spoilers but: S2:E6 Spoiler Just have to say that Jonas-Martha “first kiss” on the beach was one of the most perfect first kisses I’ve seen on film. Those guys did great.
Watched the final three episodes of two last night, which obviously included this. Loved that we went back right before the suicide to see how much Jonas that almost was hanged to death did to cause the current loop. Not to mention the shit with Adam in the finale. Incredible television. My jaw was on the floor. I love how bonkers and insane the show is at this point. The constant, "wait that's who?" stuff is awesome. Not to mention there are still a few characters that obviously have a backstory to be revealed. On The Watch pod on the Ringer one of the theories after the fourth ep was that basically the entire town is related. After the end of the season, that doesn't seem too ridiculous. Excited to rewatch this show a couple more times before next summer.
Said this too after finishing S2. People are either related or they're not from Winden. And even some of the ones that came from someone else were actually sent to Winden and related to older/younger versions of the 2018 residents.
Aleksander tiedemman is the character that is a center piece in all of this but we don’t know much about him. He is definitely one guy coming from the future trying to change some things to make it go his way imo. I bet we will learn a lot more about him next season
Basically when Jonas 2.0 destroyed/created the black hole at the end of S1, he closed the black hole in Hannah’s sex life, thus making life easier for everyone around her, and it shows
FYI, just got back into season 2 and was so confused with who is who and the connections. This chart helps immensely, but obvious spoilers. Spoiler Link to connections explained... https://www.tvguide.com/news/dark-how-everything-connected-netflix/
I have a question that I will spoiler. Just looking for a yes or no answer. I am in episode 5 the beginning. I am just a little confused. Spoiler after Claudia looked at the newspaper clippings in episode four and saw that she disappeared in her timeline, did she jump back into her original timeline to try to change the past?
Just finished. That chart really helped me visualize and remember who everyone is to the point where I feel much better than I did at the end of season one. I’m still a bit confused by the one part I posted above. But I guess with the ending it opens doorways for many inconsistencies that can be explained beyond time. It seems like the bottom line is that all of this happened because Martha is hot.
I'm on the episode where Jonas goes back to talk his father out of committing suicide and yes, my brain is fucking pudding. Not convinced any of this makes sense at this point and they're just mind fucking me into oblivion.
The part where (spoiler for S2E6) Spoiler you find out adult Magnus and Franziska (sp?) are working with Adam destroyed me. I just said OH WHAT THE FUCK like a dozen times.
Did it because she saw the article about her dad dying IIRC Saw on r/dark there’s a German movie about a family acted by 2019 Elizabeth, 1986 Charlotte, 2019 Katharina and 1953 Egon
Not reading thread to avoid spoilers, but had to pop in. Wife and I started recently, 6 episodes in. This show is fucking amazing.
