The gross misrepresentation of that quote by the media has been absolutely astonishing to see. My goodness.
Shameful, sure. But, astonishing? Really? I guess the benefit is that it'll all be forgotten after a couple of days of fever pitch.
There isn't a single thread talking about David Shaw on any of Bama's message boards. The fury has reached such levels that everyone is choosing not talk about it because it makes them so mad
lol for you being dumb enough to think I did that research. http://thebiglead.com/2016/04/11/da...f-home-region-for-over-20-of-stanford-roster/
http://www.rollbamaroll.com/2016/4/...ord-has-been-mad-online-at-alabama-since-1927 "To make a short story even shorter: David Shaw is a hypocrite, a regionalist jerk, and very probably a liar (he's also a helluva' coach.)"
This is true though they are more selective than ND for sure, really the only reason we stayed in it for the Robertson kid was because he seemed to be able to "breeze" into ND and it's "high academics" whereas he still can't get into Stanford.
The top guns at SBnation are pretty damn awesome but once you start searching into the team realms it gets pretty scary
There are fewer people that actually believe this than there are threads about David Shaw on Bama message boards right now
After reading the entire quote, I think this thread is severely overreacting. PC Police are killing America. RIP free speech
Oh my god, somebody said something i don't agree with... C'MON LET'S RUIN THAT COCKSUCKER'S FUCKING LIFE!
By doing some simple math you would see that 22 players from SEC territory spread over an average of 4 recruiting classes nets 5 players per year from SEC country. The number of states with SEC teams in them is 11 (going off memory at this point). So 5/11 = less than 1 per state per year on average. Looks like he rounded up to give you all the benefit of the doubt.
The Notre Dame site is terrific. The Brewers site pretty much just scours what's been written on the internet that day about that team and reposts it. Sometimes that's valuable because they will at least quote what's been written on pay sites like Baseball America, but if they get paid for that a1ND is in the wrong business.
Arrogance usually doesn't turn out well. Ax Xerxes what happened after he lashed the seas back at the Hellespont son. Stanford is still a great school a lot of people will want to go to but guaranteed, if this is the persona Shaw wants to play it's gonna rub some people the wrong way (in the south and elsewhere) and it will cost him some cruits
Not sure what that means, was weighing in on the debate of two pages ago Redav: Making these comments could have negative consequences for Shaw Bro et al: Lol no this will have no negative effect on Stanford My pronouncement: Arrogance has been shown to have negative consequences in the past, let's see how this one plays out Cotton
i was like 60 yards away from it and i think the chain is moving in that picture. he didnt end up cutting it in half because trying to cut something that small at a perpendicular angle that isn't secured in some way is just gonna make it move around a bunch, which is what happened iirc
Among schools that recruit good, kids never seem to give a shit at levels that mean anything. They don't care that schools process kids, that schools spring greyshirts on kids, that schools force kids onto medical scholarships, that schools pull scholarships late in the recruiting cycle, that assistant coaches skip out, etc. If David Shaw walks into a school in GA and the high school coach asks him about his comments, he'll simply say, "I wasn't talking about Georgia. I recruit here all the time and we've got Georgia kids on my roster. I was talking about Alabama."
won't have a noticeable effect, just like it didn't when Harbaugh was spouting off about academics. Stanford will be fine. They, unlike other schools in a power 5 conference, do not rely on the players that might be "offended" by this comment. Like others have posted, they get about 5 players a year from that area. also, the statement was taken out of context and he can easily take around it if it is an issue. also, it is kinda a compliment that he only wants/could take 1 or 2 kids from your southern state and approaches/offers you people commit to play football for Bobby Petrino. Shaw will be just fine.
OH NO, TAYLOR IS ABLE TO FORM COMPLETE SENTENCES AND SHARE HIS THOUGHTS WITH OTHERS ON A MESSAGE BOARD. WHAT A FUCKING JOKE!!!!
There is standard Bama Brainless, and then well below Bama Brainless is Harvey Updyke. Like, waaaaaay below Bama Brainless. To the point where I'm beginning to assume it is a Farva account. Vontaze Burfict, are you Harvey Updyke?
Not to mention that red, fist-shaking smilie used to be :nebraskafans:. We've always been mad as fuck.
Shaw on Finebaum right now. Qualified his statement by saying he was talking about football players in a state, not the general population.
