Ya I wouldn't doubt it. I wouldn't mind an announcement of new projects either I just don't think it will happen with DC moving on.
Anyone going to see Shazam this weekend? I'm probably gonna wait for HBO Max unless the reactions here are positive. Reading the reviews, sounds like the tone is still fun but the story is lacking a bit (or a lot depending review).
Shazam 2 was fine. A couple moments were funny, including one scene that had me rolling. The rest is just fine. A bit tired. A bit paint-by-numbers. Thread title recommendation: Spoiler Taste the rainbow, motherfuckers
I'll see it at some stage but I'm in no rush. I thought the first film was fine without being great, but finding out Chuck is an anti-vax nutball has kind of soured me on the franchise a little.
You can spoiler if you like but I’m does anyone know if Shazam survives the reboot, or will we really not know until after Flash?
Everything is up in the air, but I would be very surprised if he is carried over. The box office isn't there to make it a "must" and the whole gimmick of the character isn't worth the trouble without the box office returns justifying it. The whole hook of Captain Marvel/Shazam is the dynamic between the ordinary boy and the superpowered adult. It's tough to pull off in live-action because you need the sliding timeline of a comic book to keep the boy a boy. In live-action, the boy becomes a teenager, and then a man, within the span of a couple film shoots.
Imagine doing the whole movie with the weirdo and at the end they unmask and it’s Grant Gustin. People would go wild.
Plus not that comic book movies seem to even care about any romance but you get a Big situation where he can’t really date anyone
I mean sure but it was more of a Daughters of Atlas themed FMK You could also use the older version of Mary or even better Rosa, Billy’s foster mom
I fucking love the Shazam comic book character but I'm afraid Nostradumass is right. It's a tough continuity to pull off and while I think the tone of the 2 movies so far were good for what DC needed at the time, I think they missed the mark pretty massively for the actual character. I'll see the second one when it lands on HMOMax but I'm certainly not excited about it by any stretch of the imagination.
I mean he's seemingly liked universally by the fan base and the rumors are out there about him potentially taking over the role due
Okay so, I saw Shazam 2 this morning and it was... actually good. I mean, really quite good. Not perfect, of course - 15 minutes too long and unnecessarily schmaltzy in parts, but it's fun. I enjoyed it more than the first film and it is MILES better than Black Adam - amazing what you can do with decent actors in the lead roles. And the 2 credits scenes are meaty gold - people often rave about some of the Marvel end scenes and I've thought "really?". But these were very cool - no spoilers. And yes, I think I'm in love with Grace Currey. So purrty... ❤️
Let’s be real. No one knows who CW show actors are other than like 100k people that watch the show. It would not rival any of the Marvel scenes you’re talking about.
No one cares what you think Chick Fil A boy. Now go off to your local anti LGBTQ rally with your coworkers.
I don't speak for anyone but myself itt when I say I couldn't care less if the post credit scenes are spoiled
