People say this but what have they blown up in the past that was actually worth a shit? Because Snyderverse was trash from jump and clearly wasn't going anywhere that people cared about.
There is a lot to love about the slate thus far. I'm not really into a Waller show, but a GL/True Detective style series sounds amazing. The Superman movie, tied in with The Authority, will lead very easily into an adaptation of Morrison's "What's so Funny About Truth And Justice?" Seems like we might finally get to see Supes properly featured in a film series. Batman/Damien will be great, too, and the Supergirl movie as well. This was as close to a homerun announcement as WB/DC could have hoped for. Now we just have to hope Zaslav and co. don't pull the plug on it before it gets off the ground.
Casuals will probably be confused by the Elseworlds stuff, but at least they’ve given a label for those projects that won’t be part of the DCU
blowing up might be the wrong phrase, but WB is pretty notorious for being fickle and/or interfering with the creative direction of its properties. I don't know if FSUNizz posts here anymore, but he would always talk about what a poorly run studio it is.
They definitely were. But hopefully this new management can right the ship. I just hope they don't expect to make a billion dollars per movie from jump.
Think we got the entire reason Flash is still being allowed to happen: it’s solely for the purpose of resetting the universe.
Gee, bet they wish they'd released Aquaman 2 in its original slot so it would have fit in nicely prior to the universe reset and not, you know, 6 months afterwards...
Yeah, I did see that but I'm still a bit lost on why. I mean, I like Momoa's Aquaman and all, but it doesn't make any sense to me given what they're trying to do.
I rented that movie every weekend in 1990. On the rare occasion the video store was out of copies, I just grabbed Batman for the NES. I have that movie memorized. The opening sounds of the car horns and the dialogue from the couple about to be mugged is burned into my brain. Love love love that film.
Watching The Batman again, first time since the theater. I’ve said I think the portrayal of Bruce Wayne is it’s weakness, but the first 20 minutes of this movie is perfect. Also the portrayal of the city of Gotham is by far the best of any of the movies.
The old batsuits is so awesome. The blue and gray batsuit. Kingdom come suit. Looks like an old school one with guns.
