I assume he goes back to the classic blue and red when he's done being Darkseid's puppet.
He had the blue suit while he was Darkseid's puppet
Oh yeah, that's right.
...that doesn't really make sense, either. but I guess they hadn't thought of the black suit when they made Batman v Superman
someone gimme a rundown on his diff sutis plz ty
I was referring to the scene in the epilogue. He does the classic run down and open his shirt to reveal his suit. He still had the black suit on.
In the Knightmare scene, he did have the blue and red on.
this hit the timeline
They didn’t even show the worst part about that scene. “Thirsty”
But at some point he switches back, because the Epilogue Knightmare scene is the "canon" timeline leading into JL 2 though right?
Whedon should be charged with war crimes.
Correct. In BvS Knightmare scene he is in the red and blue. ZSJL we see him in the red and blue in the Knightmare epilogue.
Something makes him go back to the red and blue.
Maybe when he’s fully restored to 100% health?
Is that the adopted son Joker references at the end of the movie?
The suit bats has in his cave that says haha jokes on you Batman
For those who haven't read his interview about the sequels. Wasn't a huge fan of the Batman/Lois romance he wanted to do.
"...it was part of a five-part trilogy"
My first thought
The Bruce/Lous romance stuff was the cringiest part to me
I would have assumed that was Jason Todd's Robin suit since Joker killed him in the comics
The movies would have been split up.
I think I read when that came out that there was only ever 1 robin and it was Grayson. He never had another Robin after Joker killed him.
Well... That's just dumb. Back to hating Snyder.
The Robin that died was John Blake
I completely forgot about that character. He would have died his first night out.
Finished it last night.
Loved it. I’m surprised at how good it was. I want to see a sequel with Darkseid but I fear we will never get it.
Finally finished it after three sittings!
Pros: 1) Steppenwolf and the boxes make sense. His armor is super cool. Darkseid and Desadd were cool, the talking rock was a scene stealer
2) Flash and Cyborg got great storylines and those guys acted those roles perfectly
Cons: too long (maybe the endings got me?), too much slow mo, the fucking Amazon theme. Some odd Batman scenes or Batman lines
The original was absolutely awful, this was a legitimate interesting movie that made me want to see part 2. DC fucked this up royally however I have no interest in that Batman movie they were going to make. So glad that’s gone
I agree with every word of this, but I will just remind us that Zack Snyder did himself no favors by making a very flawed (especially from a story standpoint) Batman v Superman. He basically put the studio into panic mode and while it's easy to say "let him tell his story, the next one will be worth it," it's a lot harder when the director in question lacks a track record of success that inspires confidence. Even the much superior directors cut of Batman v Superman retains the terribly convoluted third act, which basically brought down the whole movie.
counterpoint WB is continuously in panic mode
Well this makes the slight awkwardness with the last scene more understandable.
It turns out “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” is not the definitive version of “Justice League” after all. If that was the case, then the final scene of the four-hour comic book epic would’ve featured the Green Lantern John Stewart and not the Martian Manhunter. As Snyder recently told Esquire magazine, “The last scene with Martian Manhunter, originally, I had shot it in England. And the dialogue was very similar, but it was supposed to be one of the Lanterns.”
“And then the studio had told me I wasn’t allowed to shoot anything,” Snyder continued. “That there would be no film made of any kind. During production, that was a thing they insisted on. And I shot stuff anyway, of course, in my yard. And one of the things I shot was the Green Lantern scene.”
Snyder told the ReelBlend podcast this week he filmed the new Green Lantern scene in his driveway last year during the pandemic with “an amazing actor” playing John Stewart. Snyder did not reveal the actor’s name. John Stewart is notable for being the first African-American superhero to appear in DC Comics, making his Green Lantern debut in December 1971.
“And then they asked me, when they saw the movie and saw that I put it in there, they’d take it out,” Snyder told Esquire about the studio. “And I said that I would quit if they tried to take it out. And I felt bad. The truth is I didn’t want the fans to not have a movie, just based on that one stand that I was going to take.”
Snyder concluded, “The Green Lantern was John Stewart. And that was part of it too. I was like, I don’t want to take a person of color out of this movie. I’m not going to do it. But I felt like having Harry Lennix’s Martian Manhunter at the end was, that was okay.”
Martian Manhunter appears at the end of “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” in a scene where he meets Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne outside the latter’s lake house. Martian Manhunter tells Bruce he’s going to join the Justice League in the fight against Darkseid.
Warner does t deserve nice things. Ever
Predictions on who the “amazing actor” was?
Black actor in a comic movie?
Michael B Jordan obv
Tyrese Gibson was always rumored to be the one but idk if that was just fan speculation or what
I still hate that Snyder made Superman kill someone in his first solo movie.
Tyrese has always wanted to be in a superhero movie, he even created his own superhero back in 2009, I could definitely see him doing that.
Oh hell ya
I was thinking someone like Morris Chesnutt would be an awesome Green Lantern.
Dr. Fate and Black Adam are the shit in Injustice 2
And we have Hawkman in BA as well. This will be epic.
This was actually my first thought but went with the MBJ joke instead
