What’s wrong with the Snyderverse fan boys? Saw they plan to review and social media bomb the new Superman.
They're not DC fans. They're Snyder fans and losing the DC gig basically knocked him down a bunch of begs in Hollywood. They're resentful, etc.
The Snyder cuts showed they filmed a better movies but he was horrible. Add Whedon to it and it was best to reboot.
Let alone mixing 2 stories like The Dark Knight Returns and The Death of Superman. Idk how you mess that up
It’s the overall problem that Donner got and literally no one sense. Your Clark has to be grounded and Superman has to be the supporting character. If your Superman is the main character it’s hard to make him relatable. From the previews this is Clark trying to figure out Superman’s space in this world, which is fantastic. Don’t make him moody or stalker, make him a real inspiriation. I pray that’s what Gunns Superman does.
I loved that interview scene with Louis. He just can't understand why what he did would be viewed by anyone as the wrong thing to do. That's vintage Superman.
All this but also give Superman enemies he can tussle with. In his movies he's either taking on Zod, or some human villain. He has a huge rogues gallery of big monstrous villains. Zod is good but overdone. Lex is great but he can't go 1v1 with Supes. I was glad to see him fighting some kaiju looking monster. His movies have lacked that.
I remember watching it over a weekend when my car was in the shop. I couldn’t do it in one sitting. Stuff like the Flash saving Iris was pointless and just randomly thrown in. Worst part about it is all the Darkseid stuff was great but it’s never going anywhere because Snyder sucked. Hopefully Gunn’s DC can build up to him being a big bad at some point.
This scene was so fucking frustrating. Why shoot it with the tracking device if you're just going to chase it there anyway? Snyder was just desperate for the cool Batmobile chase and ended up robbing us of what could've been a much cooler scene of showing Batman breaking into LexCorp to steal the rock.
They showed the first 30 minutes to some screeners and all the reactions are pretty through the roof.
Can't wait to start reading about casting news for this. A part of me holds out hope that this is a part 2 and part 3 and both are shot back to back.
I can't tell if that's a serious question or snarky sarcasm. If it's the latter, I have no idea what it's referring to.
Feel like there's not a lot of middle ground with a James Gunn tone for Superman. It's either the complete breath of fresh air the character needs or it misses at almost a Love & Thunder level.
I was listening to Campea’s pod and he said he talked to a handful of critics and they all liked it and some loved it. Then the next day he talked to another one who he really respects and she said she hated it. I’m sure I’ll personally like it cause I like all of his movies.
I definitely don't want Snyder's but I definitely don't want full blown GoG tone either. Hopefully he strikes the right balance. I'm going in expecting good, but not great.
I do admit the newest scene released where Krypto tears up the fortress was pretty cringy to me. Everything else has been fine.
