This movie will be fine but it’s competing against Snyder-cut psychos, superhero fatigue, the general lack of cache DC movies have with audiences, and MAGA types that are mad about POC being in any movie.
Spoilers are being posted on socials. I saw something. Adding more muted words and blocking more people.
No surprise but first reactions are universally positive, but they're influences and youtube reviewers so they're always going to be the most easily swayed. The real reviews start coming in tomorrow I believe
Only complaints I saw was too busy/too many characters and cgi issues. Overwhelmingly positive but we’ll see what the real critics say soon.
I think we got a hit on our hands. The only complaints I've seen are some people thought too much was going on while some others thought it was just right. Another complaint was that it's too cartoonish... like what did you think you were watching? It's a comicbook movie.
Yes, months ago, when they first showed Superman fighting the kaiju monster, I knew I would love the movie. I've wanted to see the Fleischer Superman brought to life, fighting giant robots and monsters, etc. I think it might finally see it.
Looks pretty settled at 85%. Think that’s the top end of the range I would have guessed. Looking at the “top critics” on RT that didn’t like it, they put the same reasons “too crowded, too weird, looks cartoonish, campy, etc”. Basically if you want to watch a comic book come to life you’ll like it. But if you hate having fun it’s probably not for you.
Like someone else said, everyone complained when Snyder’s were too grounded, now it’s too cartoony? Can’t please people.
They’re miserable. Just living life finding something to bitch about. If the Godfather were released this year it would have such a low score and horrible ratings. “Too long”. “Too slow”. “I can’t understand what he’s saying”. Just cunts
Suitable for a 5 year old? We’ve got an ipic membership and alternate taking the kiddo to the movies so wasn’t sure if it was ok to take him. They only have the 2 seat pods so that’s why we switch mommy/daddy movie days Tex
I’d say for the most part yes but there’s some light cussing and there’s one scene that isn’t kid friendly if they aren’t used to murder.
I have, I guess I'm just nervous based on DCs recent track record. I would love DC to match or exceed the Marvel Universe.
I hear you. The DC live action movies haven’t been great. I think this is the start of heading the right direction.
Who knew the secret sauce was treating a comic book movie like a comic book movie and not pushing some new version of the character. Also, like I said before, establish Clark as the character and Superman as the event.
