see what's available at strawberry springs in steamboat, too. They have some sick cottages and stuff and the springs are top notch. Different temp levels and no smell.
Sand Dunes are incredible. One of the best camping experiences I have ever had Live in Lowry Park in a townhouse with the fiancé Lived in LODO for 2 years at Ballpark Lofts. It was awesome if you were single and in your early/mid twenties. But just got too crazy and expensive
Did the Sand Dunes for the day then Joyful Journey Hot Springs for the night/morning back in March. You can stay in a heated Yurt for pretty cheap and you get two days hot springs admission with one night stay. Bring some steaks and grill out (they provide a grill). It's absolutely fantastic.
Just in the office? My current firm has probably a 60" TV and an Xbox 360 in the kitchen / break room area. It's been there since the office opened (it was a brand new building) when I started 2.5 years ago. Only seen someone play it once and that was just to prove the point that people do actually use it.
Well we have the TV, a pool table, foosball table, shuffle board, and an Air Hockey Table as well. I play shuffle board and pool pretty frequently And I think we are supposed to get a ping pong table soon
That's cool. They tried putting one of those walking desks on one of our floors a couple years ago as well. It's basically a treadmill with a desk. I've never seen it be used. It's just too awkward because there is only one and nobody wants to be "that guy." I've always said they should have a conference room dedicated to having 5 or 6 of them in a room to encourage people to actually use them. The firm also just gave everyone in my particular group (about 100 people in total) Fitbits. Going to be interesting to see how that plays out. I'm already active so it's a nice little toy to use, but so many people don't do shit here. Going to make most people feel even worse about themselves since they are sitting at a computer all day long already.
When the season gets started back up we should do some watch parties. It's always fun to watch games with fans of other teams (and I hate most Nebraska fans anyway).
The Giants are in town so I got tickets for Sunday and now I'm worrying the game's gonna get cancelled.
My parents did it. They're in town this weekend and think you have to give up your firstborn for sports tickets since they're only used to buying Husker tickets.
Yeah I was born and raised in Philly and saw the Phillies are in town right now but I don't even want to sit out in crappy overcast weather.
Zero fucks about the weather. Just got back from Austin and it was like this.... ....except 90°/90% humidity. If it's gonna be rainy and overcast I'd rather not be sweating.
We've got a company outing to the game tomorrow afternoon. It shouldn't be too awful. I've been to plenty of games below freezing and/or snowing. Plus, I'm getting paid to go to my favorite place on earth.

Finally some great weather today...until about now. Looks like storms rolling in. The Denver Day of Rock was pretty solid on Saturday. Moon Taxi was fantastic. Wanted to see St. Paul and the Broken Bones but then it started downpouring and hailing and they delayed the start times for the last acts. My wife and I just gave up and went home at that point. Seems like by next weekend things should be clearing up and looking great. Also I can say without a doubt Denver is infinitely better than Atlanta after being here just a week. And that's with this crappy weather that has been going on, which just about everyone I have talked to has said it's unusual for it to last this many days in a row.
Going to Buena Vista, CO for 4-5 days at the end of the week. Anyone have suggestions on what I should be doing? The group doesn't have any plans at all.
Question for you guys that have been here a bit longer and have utilized the light rail. How the hell do they monitor whether you buy a pass at one of the stations? Seems like you could gamble and just not buy one and hop on/off wherever you want as compared to other mass transit systems in other cities. I noticed this on Saturday going into downtown and coming home. Obviously, I noticed the validation area to stamp your ticket if you have a certain type of pass (but not a one-way or round trip). Online it says that there is an attendant that will come through the cars and check to see if you have a pass and all that, but Saturday was very busy with Denver Day of Rock and Comic Con going on downtown so there was an excess amount of people utilizing the rail. On a normal business day are they more stringent? I thought maybe it was just so busy and so many people getting on/getting off that it would not be efficient to be checking. But I noticed plenty of people that definitely just hopped on and got off a few stops later. On the way back it was pouring rain and people just crammed in so there is absolutely no way you could seriously tell if someone actually bought a pass or not. Just seems really weird that there isn't more of a way to police that unless I'm missing something.
They have people checking more often than not. First time with out a ticket is a warning then the second time is a $75 ticket. It's worth it to pay the dollar or two. Maybe keep an old one in your wallet just in case you forget to pay to flash the guys if they come around. Also, after midnight, I believe it's free.
Will I be good without a car if I move to LoDo or Capitol Hill and my job is right downtown like 18th and Welton?
You could get to and from work without much trouble. I think you'd run into other issues though on weekends and wanting to just go out and do stuff.
Smart Car or whatever it's called seems to be a decent way to get around for the carless. Also Uber is pretty cheap in the city. Free busses dt and the light rail are useful as well. You should be fine until you wanna take a day to go to the mountains and you have no way to get there...
Spangalang Brewery in Five Points. Place had some great beers. Looks like they just opened last month. If you guys haven't checked it out, it's definitely worth it.
yeah, that's an easy walk or bus ride. my store is near Cheesman Park and I live in City Park West and walk it back and forth daily (unless it's shitty like it's been for 3 weeks).
