It's kinda disconcerting walking home from work with the sky flashing off and not hearing much thunder. It's weird.
I was on campus in Boulder and it was pretty cool to watch it against the buildings and the mountains. Now my dog is scared shitless. :(
Here's a few more fun off the beaten path (but all near downtown) bar/restaurants... Whiskey Bar. Is what it says it is. Tons of whiskey. Ok on the beer. No food but an awesome empanadas place next door. Star Bar. Beer bar. Has shitty ass 20-year old carpet but clean glasses and tap lines and a hidden back patio that's pretty great. Basically across the street from whiskey bar. British bulldog. Soccer bar that has really good Indian food. Meadowlark. Basement bar with 7.5' (maybe) foot ceilings. It's cozy.
Why are so many dogs scared of lightning/thunder? I've always had cats and never had that problem. My cat is currently in the window watching the light show.
This is the first storm I've had him in. He doesn't run and hide, he just gives me a look like I'm responsible for it.
Crazy hail in sw lakewood. Awesome Lightning. Dog is freaking as well. Total pussy considering the dude lived in Tallahassee for 7 years and we get much worse thunder and lightning storms there
British Bulldog sounds awesome. Soccer and Indian food? Sign me up hopefully the weather is decent next week, I'm supposed to go to Rockies/Cards Monday-Wed. and then hike the next few days
It should be, but you never know around here. Have fun with all the Cards fans. They should outnumber Rox fans.
Just walked down to some place called Santiago's where I had the best breakfast burrito ever with some green chili that was so good My friend lives in the Highlands area I guess, really reminds me of the 12th South area of Nashville
Ahh sorry man. Was drunk when I saw it and forgot . I'll text you back later today with info I'd need to know before asking.
It was a few blocks away near Larimer I believe. It was hard to spot, it's located downstairs although I'm not sure what building it was in
I'd love to move here but I'm just here for a couple days of a conference and then a week with a HS friend who lives here. There are only like four jobs in my field here but man it rules
Root down Ophelia's stuebens Euclid Hall Sushi Den---Best sushi I have ever had. They have a specials menu that is amazing. Had New Zealand King Salmon last time and it is absurd Panzano's--Get the brussel sprouts City O City--the Savory waffle is awesome
North is pretty vague. I'll echo those and add in a few more. Ace Eat N' Serve Uncle (great Ramen) Parkburger Highlands Tap and Burger Comida at the Source Acorn at the Source Fuel Cafe Work & Class The Populist Linger Those are just a few of the places on the north side of town off the top of my head. If you are further north (in the Boulder area) I'd suggest The Kitchen, The Med, Oak at Fourteenth, Pizzeria Locale, or Frasca, to name a few.
I come from dfw where I drive an hour for everything and my car is free so area of town isn't really a limiting factor for me
Yeah you'll def be driving. Closest areas with some good stuff with be NW Denver...Highland/Sunnyside/Berkeley neighborhoods. All of these will be in those areas Linger - rooftop deck / really popular Highland Tap and Burger Root Down - Small plates Old Major - Rustic, nose-to-tail type of place; sustainable foods Uncle - Ramen / Asian My Brother's Bar - claims to be the oldest bar in Denver Williams and Graham - Prohibition era speakeasy DJ's Cafe - Breakfast / Brunch Buchi Cafe - Cuban Scratch Burrito and Happy Tap - TexMex burritos Also try to go to as many breweries as you can. There are literally endless amounts within a 5-10 mile radius of downtown Denver.
The Bombshell sandwich at Highland Tavern is insanely good. Spent two full days in Boulder the past couple days. Hopefully I'll be back soon
Did some rafting up in Fort Collins yesterday. After all the storms/rain, the river was wild. Great time to go.
I'll be in downtown Denver Thurs-Sunday next week with 12 guys for a bachelor party. We are going to the Rockies game Saturday, but don't really have other plans. We're staying in some loft we rented near the Four Seasons on like 15th. Any recommendations?
