Tavernetta was as advertised. We grabbed a bottle of wine and an appetizer at Sunday Vinyl before dinner, and it was also excellent. The Frasca Group is spectacular. Both restaurants were so obviously well run. I have not had that level of service in a really, really long time.
My wedding weekend, when my best man got in, we immediately went to a Rockies game and ate some edibles. Got fucked up and wandered over to Bar Bar and started drinking…problem was we were supposed to be picking up a table and heading home 2 hours prior for a family BBQ. almost didn’t get married because of Bar Bar.
Fyi for visitors. Dia security fucking sucks. The line for the South(I think, maybe north) checkpoint was the most rediculous line I have ever seen. Luckily I knew about the bridge checkpoint and got through quickly.
The 'secret' in this case is following signs and actively not following where all the people go. It's the least obvious security line, so the least crowded. https://nomascoach.boardingarea.com/travel/secret-denver-airport-security-line-revealed/
Went to my first post pandemic show at Red Rocks tonight. It was a great show but I forgot how big of a bitch the hike is from the South Lot up the steps to the top of Red Rocks is. I need to get back in shape.
hi team my friends and I will be there next week. does anyone want to plan our entire trip and also does anyone have an in on club seats for a Rockies game on Friday the 15th?
Totally disagree on recommending voo doo to anyone. i don’t have a Rockies connection but do recommend sitting on the 1st base side for the sunset
Yeah, fuck voodoo. unless the Rox are playing the cubs, tickets are super easy and probably <$50 a pop on club level.
they’re playing the pirates so I was thinking club seats would be cheap but they’re still pretty pricey voodoo isn’t great but cool bars would be appreciated
Had an absolute blast at the Rox game when I was in town. I don't think Euclid Hall is open anymore but if any of the sister restaurants serve the poutine fucking do it.
Little too hip for its own good. Nice little novelty for the aesthetic, but service is always rough too. Much prefer Occidental in that neighborhood. I’ll throw you out a bar list later.
the person who took me there also thinks she’s too hip for her own good, so it checks out. I’ll take all the bars and restaurant recommendations you got
staying north of coors field but we’ll have a car and will be in town wed-sun so we’ll have time to bounce all over
Cocktail bars: Enigma Bazaar The Tartarian William & Graham Welton Room Honey Elixir Bar Bars: Occidental Pon Pon Zuni St Brewing Highland Tavern
Is highland tavern good now? It was dogshit when I lived a few blocks north but that was over ten years ago.
not a bad list. I will add: dive bars: Colfax Adjacent - Thin Man; PS Lounge; The Crypt; The Horseshoe Lounge South Broadway - Dive Inn; Skylark Lounge; Candlelight Tavern, Kentucky Inn (When Breakfast King was still open, I would hit this bar crawl and finish with a 3 AM meal at the King) Tennyson Adjacent - Local 46; Crow Bar For breweries, just choose a highly rated one with a good outdoor area, you can't go wrong Pon Pon is a good spot in RiNo. As is Embassy Tavern. Used to love Matchbox before it got ruined. Meadowlark is pretty good. Union Lodge 1 makes a great cocktail, but not in the best looking part of downtown Cruise Room is silly but fun. Jax has a great pre-Coors game happy hour with Oysters. So does Fish n Beer. I will never advise anyone to go to LoDo unless that is really their scene. If so, just choose the place that looks the best to you
excuse me. what is silly about Cruise Room?? ...also, I'm trying to decide which show to see at Red Rocks in August: Black Crowes or Lupe Fiasco.
Drinks are on point foremost, but I like that its got an indoor+outdoor setup. Just chill af vibe too.
The best. Need to have a park day soon but my weekends are so busy. Also love lapping that with coffee and a doggo
near chaffee park? coming from the airport and we have a car so anywhere. we booked this house because there were supposed to be 5 of us, now there’s only two so we’re stuck in a not ideal area
are the other 3 coming at all? Sounds like the trip is off to a hot start Post Oak is pretty good BBQ in Tennyson Kike's Red Tacos is a top tier taco spot Dimestore delibar roof may be a great spot if you can snag some shade
nope it’s just us two babe. one couldn’t get time off and another separated from his wife because he’s a gambler
RTD is waiving all fees for august. also was not aware that all Coloradans would be receiving a 750 dollar check in august due to a budget surplus
Have flown out of Denver airport dozens of times but always domestic. Flying international here in like 2 weeks for the first time. Any tips? Flight is at 7 am so guessing I need to be there by 5?
