I find the best bbq in town to be out of food stalls and trucks. I haven’t been to them all, but some of the best reviewed places are food trucks. Glad they scaled up. I’ll keep them in mind. I get my boards waxed in golden. I normally scoop up Kickin Chickin, but I’ll hit up your spot.
The last time winter was this bad was probably my senior year and because of it, I moved out (and a 2nd time a few years later). Don’t be an idiot like me. I regret it pretty much daily.
Eh, it hasn’t been bad the 5 years I’ve lived here, and I grew up in Tennessee. But this has been a harsh and lingering winter
Got to take the good with the bad. So close to an awesome summer and hiking season. Plus it extends skiing a bit more for those who want to keep that going
She’s born and raised in Tampa. Whole family lives here. I’ve conceded defeat until my kids go to college. Just need 1 to go to CU
Tampa >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Denver imo. Lived both places. I would rather kayak fish than hike or ski any fucking day of the week. Give me the heat, humidity, and bugs. I'm also from the gulf coast so that may influence things.
I am a fan. I also enjoy Ros Siam and US Thai, but live on the eastside now. I've heard things about Farmhouse Thai but never been. Next on my list is to scope out some of the burmese places on east colfax. also trying to send some business to a newly opened thai shop called Rice and Noodles on Colorado Blvd near City Park
I've also been advised to try Noodles Express and Fortune to Wok in the Cherry Creek area. Evidently Fortune to Wok has some unreal chef's table experience above/below its normal dining room, which serves very casual food.
not saying it is the best in town, but the sole proprietor seems like a super nice guy, even if the language barrier makes conversing with him difficult. Super easy online ordering system.
also, for those that own homes out here and got an eye-popping increase in their estimated property tax burden, seems like the legislature got in under the wire to get something on the ballot to help alleviate the issue: https://coloradosun.com/2023/05/08/colorado-property-tax-relief-ballot-measure/
About the same. Glad they figured out some relief to get in the ballot. Sure it’ll become a cluster around election time
You mean like the appraisal value of homes? Ya. But when they appraised the homes, the markets were red hot (June 2022), unlike now. in general, we still have fair property taxes here. But huge increases all at once are certainly unfair to a lot of people, especially those lower income. So I’m glad they are working toward a solution while not cutting funding for schools
Just popped both right tires due to a pothole on Brighton Blvd. Who can I send this costly fucking bill to?
Went to Red Rocks Thursday night and not sure I’ve ever been more soaking wet in my entire life including swimming in pools
My fiancé has to plan a pop up marketing event (giving away free ice cream and merch) for the Coach purse company somewhere in Denver. Do y’all have any ideas of plazas or outdoor areas with high foot traffic, pref gen z, so that she can research options? Here’s an example of their setup in NYC for scale:
I presume it has to be / needs to be downtown? because the lohi little man and RiNo area around some of the larimer breweries makes some sense. but that also looks like a Milk Market thing downtown.
doesn’t need to be downtown. Just needs to have day time foot traffic in the 20-35 yo crowd. They are looking at 7/14 - 7/16. A friend who lives out there said he was thinking Washington park or Cheesman park but I’m not sure he understood the assignment
sure, I mean busy parks have a lot of young foot traffic. But not sure how that would work or how people would respond to that being set up in a public park space. I standby Little Man or Avanti in LoHi
I just can’t imagine Little Man is going to be cool with it unless they’re supplying the ice cream Another cool area would be the plaza around Union Station
yeah - they’d be giving out free ice cream not from little man, so that wouldn’t work I suggested the union station plaza too. Thanks.
