I mean it’s expensive but worth it imo. Buying a house sucks but taxes are at least pretty good after that
I live out in the burbs but I got double the house for $400,000 less than what I sold my house for in south Tampa. So cheaper for me.
Have literally no idea about any neighborhoods or burbs in the city. According to the maps app the job is near Lakewood/Bear Creek/Bear Valley area. Would need a house that is minimum 3br, probably 4. Currently have a 25-min commute and hate it. Would love to be close at new potential job, but Denver is big and I’m guessing that’s not realistic.
I spent like 60% more than I budgeted for my house but location was important to me. Arvada is a good place to look
You're probably looking at $650,000 plus for a 4/3 depending on how nice it is. I'm in between Boulder and Golden but technically Arvada. There is a new neighborhood going in across from mine called Trailstone. 4/3's are in the 700s. If you go east into Arvada proper it gets cheaper but the homes are much older.
Moving back in March and house hunting for a place to renovate near cheseman or city park. *bart Scott can’t wait*
siap So, at DIA they closed the level 5 north security checkpoint and basically moved it up to level 6? Closed the bridge to A and will also do the same thing on the south end?
Is Littleton cool at all? Some decently affordable Zillows out that way. How far is it from actual Denver?
Moved from City Park area to the Columbine Valley area of Littleton about 2 years ago and love it. Go to downtown Littleton quite a bit. Good food and drink options there and more keep popping up. Downtown Denver option is only 20 minutes away with no traffic. Also have two small girls so suburb life was inevitable so this is also me coping with that
It has some worthwhile stuff. Near some state parks. About 30 mins from downtown Denver without traffic. You also might live near the D line, which would make life easy.
A lot of restaurants have a “Littleton” location. One of Denver’s 3 Alamo’s are there. It does make it a haul to the airport, but otherwise seems cool as far as suburbs go
I don't love geeks who drink for trivia any other organizations you guys like? However, DBC Lowry has elite good for a brewery.
Just went tonight. Wasn’t bad. I’d also recommend the pop up bars at adrift, death and co, or Hell or high water.
Station 26 trivia always seems well run but not sure who does it. My friend does the Tuesday trivia at recess.
Any recommendations for a good bar near Empower Field before the broncos game? Friends want to Jefferson park pub but it’s gonna be insanely busy.
Occidental is a good spot for watching games and pre gaming. little machine is a solid brewery definitely within walking distance. also, I love Wally’s on the edge of downtown.
Any movie people have any idea how to find out where and when The Brutalist will be shown in Denver or any front range theaters? Google not helping, shockingly.
I read that it is only coming out this week in LA and NY in VERY limited theaters. and will get a wider release in January (similar to how A24 handled Zone of Interest last year). So there is really no way to know. I feel your pain, I wanted to see it this week. have to settle for Nosferatu I guess
kinda stopped trying, even though I probably could at this point. not sure if it is worth it. I'm sure reddit has a good recent thread on it somewhere
I went a few weeks ago with my wife and kids. It’s like $40 a person for chips and salsa, an entrée and the sopapillas. Slightly cheaper for kids. The drinks aren’t very good and are crazy expensive. my kids had a ton of fun. I was over it after about an hour. Seems fun for nostalgia reasons, though I see no reason I’ll be going back. We just got the normal meal for all four of us and my wife and I both ordered double margaritas. The bill was over $200.
I watched the documentary on Casa Bonita after going. Can't believe they put $40 million in that place for essentially Trey Parker nostalgia reasons.
You can get reservations week of by calling a bunch and checking to see if anyone cancelled. There’s usually a few but you gotta be on top of it
You can also just sign up for their free loyalty program thing and you get early access to reservations. I just don’t want them anymore.
Noticed a little bit north of Coors has snow, but there's nothing on the ground 2-3 blocks south of Coors.
