I can barely see across the street. Keep waiting for the snow to start dumping but just frost on everything.
Traffic going up was good. Crowds light. Traffic back was good until total shitshow back-up for Floyd Hill construction. At a crawl for 10 miles before Floyd. This is our fate until this project is over for weekday skiers.
My company's HQ is moving to Denver (it's in "LoDo" so I'm told). Probably going to be visiting on a somewhat regular basis for the foreseeable future beginning next month. Any recommendations for restaurants (preferably places with a decent bar to sit and eat at), bars (whiskey/cocktail/beer), and breweries are greatly appreciated. Will probably be staying at the Kimpton Monaco but I'm willing to venture outside of that area, especially if I can get there via Metro or walk. Downtown seems kind of touristy from what I've searched on my own so far? Looks like RiNo has a lot of good options? Think I'm going to try to eat at Molotov my first trip out there. I'm a sucker for elevated central/eastern European cuisine.
If you like baseball LoDo is a short walk to Coors Field. Union Station is right there too so you can take light rail to and from it throughout the Denver metro.
June. the direct to Istanbul has also opened up a lot of affordable Eastern and central European travel options.
Casual stop at Cozobi tonight, so good. Avocado margs are 10/10, scallop crudo is incredible, and our first time having their tres leche which was unbelievable
We are going next week. Weve been under the weather for the month we’ve been here, so excited to get out for the first time. Getting used to the new climate is no joke.
going to comedyworks in denver on saturday night. anyone been before? curious as to how parking works there
there’s something going around. My kids were sick as hell over the holidays. My wife has had a cough for about a month. I just got it this week. Feel like shit. I’m supposed to ski on Sunday so need to feel better by then.
yay! it is a sold out show and doors open at 7:45, show starts at 8:45. never been to a comedy show before..should i be there by 7:45?
Had an elite Colorado day. Hiked Raccoon trail at Golden Gate state park, then hit the Little Arthur’s popup at New Image brewing in Arvada, absolutely fantastic burgers
Anyone got any restaurant recs for dinner around the RiNo area? Trying to grab a nice bite before hitting the Mission tonight
Big fan of New Image, wife’s mom lives near Berkeley Lake so we try to get there any time we visit. I didn’t realize they had a second location where I think they do all the brewing, have you been to that one?
No that was actually my first time to that location as well. We’ve only been in the area a year so still working our way through the spots
This place looks really good. My wife mostly hates seafood so it’s always tough to get her to go to places like this so going to make this a priority to hit up since I’ll be on my own.
Id be happy to put a list together at some point at stuff that’s the best combination of within 2 hours + most memorable. But you aren’t going to be hiking beyond the front range until late May, maybe June
Golden has a lot of nice ones. Easy one is to just follow the river in downtown. I like North Table Mountain West Trail just north of Golden.
Yeah, I originally added when the weather breaks but took it out. A list would be great. Thanks a lot. Will likely stick within 30 min or so for a while but would love to branch out once we get used to it all.
Buddy of mine's trying to non rev it to Panama City tonight on Copa. Snow might help him out with misconnects.
I think this is the most wrong I've ever seen them about snow. My area was supposed to get 5-10 inches of snow. We got maybe 1.
Despite it being cold as fuck I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first time in Denver. Went to: Pony Up Nola Jane Fish N Beer Finn’s Manor Our Mutual Friend Brewing Wynkoop Brewing (was just ok, my boss wanted to take our new hire here for dinner) Woods Boss Brewing Ended up walking all the way from Fish N Beer back to my hotel at 17th and Champa last night after wandering down Larimer.
