Seems lkke the weather calms down after the morning. I think they’ll get the game in. We had tix for tonight and my daughter’s bday is Sunday. Guess she gets a night at the ballpark and her cake a day early now (double win for Dad).
Where do most people go for a summer vacation? We were thinking of doing something within a five to six hour drive from here in late July/early August and looking for something more in the relaxing side. Any suggestions?
Estes Park isn't that far away. We did that once when I lived out there. You could also drive up to Deadwood
Rocky Mountain NP, Telluride, Steamboat Springs, Sante Fe, Durango. Really, pick any mountain town and find some hikes or hot springs nearby. Tons of camping options too if you’re into that.
We’re spending a few nights in Estes Park. Probably take a few trips into the mountains go to Crested Butte for a long weekend We did Mount Rushmore last summer as well. Black Hills are lovely.
Good family campgrounds with young kids? Been to plenty of sites with just my wife but want to bring the little ones on a couple this summer
Rampart Range Campground is relatively close to Denver and I would suggest as a pretty non-treacherous option and a good option for families.
Big fan of Ouray too. Several National parks in the state, including the great sand dunes. No shortage of amazing mountain towns to travel to in the summer. A great place to live if you just want to drive the kiddos 4 or 5 hours. time it out with one of the awesome ultra races for elite people watching.
We did the YMCA last week and it was great. Summertime there must be incredible. I think we are gonna do summer 2026.
This closed due to lease issues but has resurfaced in edgewater https://maps.app.goo.gl/K3uDiRqLQ3PFrPU19?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
Spent the day at Wash Park today, I've been there a hundred times but always nice to be reminded what an absolute gem it is for the city.
Just went for my birthday. I love spuntino but I think tavernetta became my #1 Italian spot in the city. That happy hour menu is awesome.
This back and forth weather has our allergies all fucked, but damn, it’s gonna be hard not to sit outside and drink all day.
I guess the women's soccer arena will be near South Broadway. That could be sick. very excited for the golf course to get a face lift and turn into a nice park. that area could also use some additional housing and a grocery store. hopefully they add that in as well.
Looking at doing something comparable to the Red Rocks Trail next weekend if you have any recs. 5-8 miles or so and about 30 minutes away? Any recs are appreciated.
Check the Nederland lake trails on all trails and see if there is still snow on them. Those trails rock. Great for spotting moose
Could do one of the flatirons hikes from Chautauqua or nearby. I would recommend Skunk Canyon ->kohler mesa->royal arch (have to park in a Table Mesa neighborhood next to the trailhead, can dm me if you need details). Just make sure to download the map on Alltrails but the views are incredible
banging weather today going to tacos & tequila festival here in the springs lil jon timbaland twista mike jones paul wall david banner yung joc all performing lol
Hiked coyote and raccoon trail in golden gate. Currently at outside festival, which is pretty sweet. Going to red rocks tomorrow
I’ve got two day GA wristband to outside festival but can only do one day. If none of my friends want my wristband, I’ll put mine up for grabs ITT for real cheap
Got Casa Crobu lasagna from the farmers market this morning, and shit, that is delicious. Expensive, but not as expensive as going out to eat.
Aight Denver fam I’m in your area for a month (well Boulder but whatever), can yall turn this rain off please?
It’ll be kinda crappy til the weekend but looks like we’ve got some nice weather on deck for this weekend and next week
